Absolutely Love This Light – Bright, Durable, and Reliable
I cannot express how much I love this light! The Streamlight Waypoint 400 is insanely bright — bright enough to see through my coworkers' excuses! It's perfect for covering multiple acres, and I use it regularly on large properties. It’s tough, waterproof, and built to last. The battery life is excellent, and the beam distance is impressive charges fast, Not to big but not to small, Works amazing. Whether you're working outdoors, patrolling, or just need serious illumination, this light delivers in every way. Hands down one of the best flood lights I’ve ever owned.

My kids call it "The articial sun"
It is bright. Seriously bright. It is not a giant thing like others are. It is ruggedized and will withstand several drops. It has three brightness settings, flashlight, bright flashlight, and focused fusion reactor. I bought this to replace an earlier version of the same light. I believe the earlier one was rated in the 500 Lumen range and that was the first "artificial sun". That one's battery died after a couple years (understandable), but Streamlight does not offer replacement batteries. Is this one brighter? Probably. I don't have a battery for my old one to compare and it's been dead for a year or so. If I don't come up with a battery solution to this when it finally dies in a couple years, I'll probably buy the most current version of this. There are several accessories available. This one came with a bracket/holster thing to mount in your vehicle. My old one had a red filter and a green filter that attached to the front. It comes with a wrist lanyard that allows you to carry other stuff while this thing dangles, but I wouldn't recommend doing that with it on. It's small enough that I usually chuck it in my backpack.

Very bright and dependable
This is a good spotlight. Appreciate that it’s chargeable, saving on batteries. The first one purchased went in our house, then my husband wanted one in his shop. Price had gone up dramatically. They are pricey but quality is good.

5 star product, but…
First off, the light pictured IS NOT the light you get, which is a good thing in this case, but part of the reason I’m only giving it 3 stars. Streamlight sells 2 versions of this light according to their website, the “Waypoint”, and the higher powered more expensive “Waypoint 300”. The only difference you can see that differentiates the 2 models is the Waypoint 300 says 300 right on it, which the model pictured does not show, even though that is the actual model being sold here, the Waypoint 300. The specs Streamlight provides for the 2 different models doesn’t match up either, the lower end Waypoint has less Lumens and less specified beam distance than the Waypoint 300, but when shopping for these lights Waypoints specs aren’t consistent so its tough to say which specs are correct, their actual website does show the 1000 Lumen specs which is consistent, but they show the actual beam distance for this model as much further on their website than they advertise at other places like here. As far as the light goes it lights pretty well for the price, though I don’t own any higher or lower priced lights to compare to, just for the price I paid I’m satisfied with the amount of light it produces. The beam of light is very focused, more so than expected, its good if that’s what you want, but for me I think its a little too focused, it lights up bright an insanely long distance, which is exactly what I wanted, but the width of the lighted area is not wide at all seems to be about a 20’ circle at 50 feet or 1,000 feet with very little spill over lighting outside that area. It gives you a great focused distance, but a little more spill light would be better for my purpose in buying this. I have 100 acres of hilly woods I walk my dogs in at night and need to be able to find them. 1 dog is a pitch black Wolf who is invisible in even a little darkness and 1 is a pit bull who ironically happens to be the exact same color as the leaves on the ground making her also effectively invisible. I needed the long range because the Wolf in particular travels far in any given direction in just the blink of an eye. The focused beam I’m finding makes scanning the area for them difficult because it lights such a concentrated area. I can see where someone might like this, say if you were looking up a tree or at something stationary it would be great, but for scanning woods up and down hills looking for a fast moving object a little more flood to the sides would be better. The lower lumen model implies a less focused beam but at the sacrifice of distance, I needed both. While the light quality itself is very good, the feel of the light body has more of a thin cheap plastic sense to it. While mine isn’t intended to be utilized in an abusive or extreme environment and is adequate for my needs, if your intent is requiring something a lot more rugged or heavy duty I think you’ll be disappointed. There’s also a small metal ring on the back of it which is handy for attaching a strap, but I ended up grabbing it with pliers and ripping it off the light after my very first night with it, it makes a constant rattle noise and while stealth wasn’t a requirement for my situation I found the noise in the otherwise quiet of my woods at night annoying. I suppose I could have just put a piece of tape on it, but I just pulled it off, the rattling noise the clip makes just added to the over all cheap feel of the light body. The finger groove positions on the pistol grip are bizarre as well, its like it was designed for someone with 3 finger cartoon hands, the neglected to account for the pinky finger at the bottom and your pinky finger lands in a weird bulged spot at the bottom. The distance from the index finger at the trigger to the next finger spot down is also completely off. Its no big deal, it doesn’t make it uncomfortable or awkward to use, you’d think someone would have picked up on that in the initial prototype phase of development. I’m over all not dissatisfied with it, I’ll be keeping and using it despite having higher expectations from it. If I ever found myself in a situation needing to replace it I’ll admit I’ll explore some other options instead. This seems like it was a good design when it first went into production but the manufacturer has failed to invest in updating or improving on it over the years. They really need to… 1) Improve, fine tune, the spill lighting out more, at least a little while maintaining the brightness and distance it has. 2) Make it from a material that gives it a better quality feel than the cheap brittle plastic feel it has. It doesn’t have to be aircraft grade aluminum or excessively heavy (it is very light weight), but just not the current feeling like if you just squeezed it lightly its going to break in your hand. I own other items made from plastic yet still have a strong solid feel to them. Fix the fit between handle and hand. Fix the rattle noises. 3) Update the charging method to modern USB or something so it can be charged in your house AC or charged in your truck DC. 4) I would be fully satisfied paying twice as much for this same light if it had these improvements to it, as it is I think its only worth about half the price I paid for it. Update: After using it a couple weeks I’ve grown more attached to it, its really serving its purpose well, also, 2 straight weeks of nightly use and I still haven’t had to recharge it yet. I’m raising it from 3-4 stars and changing my opinion, if something happened to this one I’d buy another just like it. I would still like to see my suggested improvements, with one additional I’d add. Make it so a slight not full trigger pull only illuminates it to half brightness. Full brightness is great for finding my dogs and even doing a quick scan for skunks before letting them out, but I’m having to carry a 2nd flashlight to see where I’m walking because this is too bright to use in that way. You wouldn’t think a light could be too bright but it is at closer distances, the glare back, even from non reflective items like trees and leaves makes it difficult to see things up close. This is definitely not intended to be used as just a really bright flashlight or work light for close distances. The light range is unbelievable. I don’t have anything open and more than 1 mile away to test actual distance on, but I can light up a spot on a hill on the other side of a ravine that’s almost 1 mile straight across.

Best light out there for the money! Super bright, lightweight, and durable. Good longevity, just try to run the battery dead as I don’t think it’s good to be charging it at half or quarter. Oldest flashlight is at least ten years old, battery doesn’t last as long as the new one but still as bright as the day it was bought! Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, you need to buy it. No, trust me, you won’t regret this purchase. And yes, I’ve used maglite before and won’t be going back.

I've had 4 Streamlights Waypoints over the years for Pest bird and wildlife jobs. I wore 2 out and got streamlight warranty on them unexpected and awesome, but that's not why I like them. The Waypoints have a deep parabolic reflector the beam is concentrated to a fine useful point, perfect for looking for holes, and corners of warehouse's 20-49 ft away, often against the bright sky or even sun, which is typical for looking for bird and squirrel holes. Even though lumens are less that other flash light, it still beats them. Now I use a Laser flash light (That sucker goes for a mile or so.). and waypoints.

Excellent light for evening boating and when you hear a noise in the woods. Powerful beam in a well balanced and modest size Charge lasts many more hours than previous spotlights I have owned. I am so pleased with the Streamloghts performance that I have gifted several to family and close friends. This product lives up to the manufacturer's claims.
