Age Defy Expert Collection 5G Medium Golden Brown 1 Kit

I received this product free from BzzAgent to try and review. My first impression was very positive. I have long, thick hair, along with the cursed wiry grays. I will start out by listing the pros and cons. Pros: The cream for pre-treatment is great, it goes on smooth and there is an ample supply to cover lots of hair. Upon first mixing the solution, I was worried about the amount. Since it is thicker, it seems to go a long way and I had a bit more than I needed. I normally use Clairol Nice 'N Easy and have barely enough. The solution is thick so I had no issues with drips all over my bathroom. This product does not have the typical chemical smell. The smell is pleasant and not strong. Washing out was super easy and very clean! I didn't have to give my shower stall its own cleaning as there wasn't coloring solution splattered everywhere. The amount of conditioner they give you is very generous. A little goes a long way! My hair is very soft and shiny (not from residue.) The amount of hair loss was significantly less after I used this product vs. my old color treatment. The color I used (Light Brown 6) is true to its description. I normally have a bit of red tint to my hair after I color and I was so happy to see this turned out to be a true light brown! Cons: I felt like I could see my grays "shimmer" through sooner than with my normal dye. This could be because I washed my hair with shampoo the day after I colored (my normal routine) or it could be that I didn't leave the solution on long enough. Since this was my first time using this product, I was leery of going over the allotted 25 minutes. The next time I use it, I will leave it on longer which is what I normally do. Overall, I am very impressed with this product and will be purchasing it regularly.

I have been using Nice and Easy - which covered and lasted pretty long on my hair (I have a lot of grey on the sides of my head). However, the color always ended up as just one plain old boring shade of brown. It never seemed to take on any of my natural varying tones (my hair is a medium brown, with some blonde and reddish tones throughout). I decided to try this brand - and I've now found a new go to color. It covered my grays and didn't make my hair one boring shade - I still have my natural varying tones. I think it made my hair a little coarser and dryer, so to combat that, I just used a clear gloss treatment the next day which smoothed everything back out. LOVE THIS COLOR!

This color is great. My hairstylist, who is in a high end salon, could not stop complimenting me on the color. He also especially liked the shine in my hair, and this was after a week of daily shampooing. The color fades a bit after a few weeks, as all dyes seem to.

I love this hair color. It covers the gray completely and does not fade as much as other brands. The pre-treatment packet that is included helps the color absorb into each hair strand and shields the hair from damage while coloring. The color is beautiful and multi-dimensional. It leaves my hair in perfectly shiny condition and I can keep it that way with the weekly conditioner that is included in the box. I trust Clairol and Pantene products and this product is a fantastic collaborative effort. I highly recommend Clairol Age Defy Expert Collection Hair Color!

Can't believe the shine, color and grey coverage Clairol provides. I generally go to the hairdresser for my cut and color but decided to cut back. With this color, I can do that and still have shiny and healthy looking hair.

I figured I couldn't go wrong trying this product. I was shocked to see that their version of light brown is golder than L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Hair Color Light Brown. The L'Oreal is much more brown than "gold". I was also shocked when I was done to see that the Clairol product had left an orangy color on my scalp. I've washed my hair twice since I colored it, and the orangy look is finally gone. Maybe it reacted with the L'Oreal... I don't know. I am interested to see how long it is before I have to color my hair again. I have bought the coloring help kit from Amazon that has the cup, clips and brushes. This makes the job sooooo much easier than just using the bottle that comes with the coloring.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars because it wares off the grays fast.I like the color though.

I've left all the other dye products behind... when you've found the best, walk away from the rest! High quality product from the solution, conditioners to the gloves. I love the way my hair feels & how long it looks great.
