After many, many years on birth control, I decided to stop taking it. After no period for almost a year & no hopes of getting pregnant, I visited my gyno and learned I had PCOS. That is a dramatic headline because, quite literally, this supplement has changed my life. When I hit 40, everything changed...slowly. Periods got heavier, PMS symptoms got worse, there was a new phenomenon of intense sweating at night and randomly throughout the day. My breasts were so tender to the touch for 3 weeks out of the month that I was just plain miserable. At 42, I couldn't take the incredibly heavy periods anymore--they were so heavy I really couldn't leave the house. A visit to my doctor sent me on a goose chase of tests, including very invasive and painful ones, and weekly blood tests and meetings with a hematologist. After a year of one test after another and no real indication of what was "wrong," I decided to turn myself into a human guinea pig and started testing supplements to help with what was--to me--clearly perimenopause. DIM helped a bit in terms of reducing the periods, but not enough to feel confident I wasn't going to have accidents out in the world, even with a concurrent tampon and pad. After about 6 months of that trial, I switched to Vitex. Vitex worked better than DIM, and I was content that things were improving in the blood volume department, and my skin was improving, but I still was so hot. All. The. Time. So hot I actually bought an ice vest. Hot! And the PMS symptoms were mostly unchanged.As we all know, retargeting ads work, and instagram clearly figured out I was having female issues based on my internet search history. Coincidentally, I saw this ad about the time I had finally given in to my OB's suggestion of going back on birth control pills (that I purposely went off at about age 35). I didn't want to introduce exogenous hormones into my body, but my symptoms were so bad I was going to give up and do it. I have been taking this supplement for about 6mos to a year .Backstory:Irregular periods my whole life, sometimes I would have a period every 6 months sometimes every 2-3 weeks, sometimes regular for a few months. Heavy and light and all the in between.Decision to purchase:I listened to TTC podcast and the main guy from this company spoke and he sold me on the product on that podcast. I got home and ordered it. So on the podcast I got the impression that this was a product that had done clinical trials but once I received it I messaged with their team and I was advised this specific product has not been clinically tried but it has been extensively researched. They have other Maca product that have been clinically tried it just this particular one that hasn't.The experince:It tasted earthy, but it's fine like its not gross or anything. Their customer service is superb they have a chat on the website and also you can email with them. They have a doctor I believe and other people who respond. They recommend 2 daily pills, but I only take one now. So the first couple of months it made me have my period and I kept taking the two pills, my period started getting longer like 32-38 days but it was regular at least. I took it back down to 1 pill and it started coming every 28-32 days like clockwork. Cramps and bloatiness stopped and my mood improved a lot. I thought I was fine and I quit it cold turkey, ummm so when I quit it my period was regularish.... but like in the 40-50 day range so as soon as I started taking the Maca again my period was regulated. I love this stuff and it is worth the price and the hype for me. I am currently TTC and my labs have come out normal and my doctor is okay with me taking the maca.Conclusion:It may not work for everyone BUT it worked for me. This stuff is amazing and I would 10/10 recommend.

These capsules are easy to take and taste medicinal not great. Besides that, it really worked a miracle for me. We had been experimenting with the thought of conception for the past two years and seven months nothing really worked. I gave Maca a try, thinking with my pcos and facial hair, I was very infertile and would take many many months or closer to a year for my body to revert. I was wrong… this supplement worked within six weeks and I got a miracle. My word to the wise is to make sure you and your partner are absolutely certain that you want a baby within the next few months or less. Our miracle baby certainly was a beautiful surprise and but we were not prepared.**Full disclosure I was taking 3 pills a day at one point. I did research but don’t necessarily recommend it. But that’s probably the reason I got pregnant sooner.***
