Works as intended. Weight is definitely there to allow you to swing freely without force to get reflexes and not hurt the patient.

This is a good hammer — well worth the price. My only complaint is that the rubber is a bit too hard.

Good weight but very hard rubber
I liked the weight and balance of this hammer. I had a colleague who used I think this hammer but the rubber wasn't so hard. I'm back to using the MDF Tromner with the black plastic handle since the rubber is softer and less painful for my fingers and my patients.

Fell apart first use
It seems that it was poorly tapped. Fell apart as soon as I took it out of the box.
