I think for now I will use it for that purpose. Have yet to make it for what it is supposed to be used for, but I am sure it will be wonderful. It salvaged my alfredo sauce and made it just so insanely yummy. Review: If the Dish Depends on the Roux, Buy Jotis! - I’ve never - hands down - never used a mix, or even my own flour that blended together so smoothly!! Must be some kinda witchcraft! Though I did notice the mix was such a fine powder I could’ve used it to set my makeup (when I was 17) 😂 Love that it came with 2 separate packs! If you have something that DEPENDS on your roux, 1. Use real butter! 2. Brown said butter (for depth of flavor-umami) 3. Use Jotis Bechamel!!!

good and convenient béchamel mix
I think this is their international packaging, it is slightly different than the one sold in Greece by Giwtis but close enough. To me it tasted a bit less sweet, with less salt, and the nutmeg was less prominent. Still, I am grateful for being able to order this mix so conveniently. I should say though that in Greece I used to get the original mix and not the instant one. The original one you need to heat up with the milk until it gets thicker. tips: - make it a bit runnier than the box says and add egg yolk - make it with condensed milk (add water but keep it thicker than you would to drink) AND add salt nutmeg and pepper. - prepare it and add it to the cheese mix for a turopita (cheese pie)

Easiest Pastitsio Ever
My wife recently tried the bechamel mix for Greek pastitsio and she was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make a delicious and authentic-tasting dish! All you need is milk to add to the mix and you're ready to go. The bechamel mix had a great consistency and blended well with the other ingredients in the dish. It added a creamy and rich flavor to the pastitsio, which was perfect. What's great about this bechamel mix is that it saves a lot of time and effort compared to making the sauce from scratch. It's also very convenient since you only need to add milk to the mix. Overall, I highly recommend this bechamel mix for anyone looking to make a delicious and authentic Greek pastitsio with minimal effort. The taste and quality are fantastic and it's a great value for the price. I couldn’t tell the differences till I saw the empty package in the trash can.

Excellent Instant Bechamel for Moussaka, Lasagna, Etc.
Recently discovered Jotis's Instant Bechamel sauce. It's designed to produce a thick, stiff bechamel sauce suitable for making dishes like Moussaka or Lasagna, in which Bechamel sauce is a layer/topping that needs to stay in place in the dish. It couldn't be easier to use: pour the contents of one envelope into 500ml (2 cups/i pint) of cold milk and whisk until it thickens. It's basically an unsweetened instant pudding! The basic thick sauce could probably be used as a base for making souffles (haven't tried that yet). The basic sauce has very little flavor. Before using it, taste and season it appropriately, by adding salt, pepper, nutmeg, etc. to taste. This sauce is almost fat free. If you want a richer sauce, whisk in some oil or melted butter. For a thinner sauce, add more milk until it's the consistency you want. I haven't tried using plant-based "milk" to make this instant Bechamel. I don't know if it will thicken properly without using dairy milk. This will be a future experiment!
