Great Game
Wife and I like to play co-op hunting games. This is similar to Super Slam Africa, which is the best one, but when you get tired with Africa, this one is good. Bow hunting took a while to figure out as the book doesn't tell you it works differently than just shooting a gun. You have to hold and release.

Remington Super Slam Hunting: Alaska
A lot of the scenes are just like the African hunting game. The animals and scenery are different but the layouts and movements are the same. My biggest disappointment is they deleted the retry/continue buttons at the end of the round. I play this with my elderly father and he has trouble because you have to go all the way back to the main menu to simply go to the next round in the same tournament. Coins were replaced with gold nuggets and there isnt enough time to shoot many of them because you have to shoot a stone to release each nugget then shoot each one. By then the scene has moved. We have all the Remington games and were looking forward to the Alaska release. I always wind up buying 2 more after we try them out for my dad and cousin. This time it will be just the one copy. We have reached gold on every level and tournament on the other Remington games.Gold medals are very hard to achieve in Alaska. If you have all the others North American,African,Bird Hunter etc. This one is still fun but try North America and Bird Hunt first then Africa.

4.5 stars - great game
This game is awesome. It would get 5 stars except for a couple negative things: First of all, I would think someone from Remington would review the weapons being used in the game since a lot of the weapons are manufactured by Remington. For example, most shotguns can only hold 3 rounds unless there's a magazine extension attached. I've earned a shotgun that holds 12 rounds! Great fun, but not realistic. Yes, I know this is a shoot 'em up hunting game, and sometimes they do have to bend the rules a little to make it more playable. I personally own an 870 SuperMag Turkey gun, and even with the mag extension, in real life, it only holds 6 + 1 in the barrel. Ok, I know I'm nit-picking, but get it right, would ya? The game creators did such a great job on this game that I would think they shoulda got the guns right. Another gripe I have is the high-powered rifles that shoot the powerful 30 caliber rounds don't take down the game as well as the shotgun or bows do. The bow is actually one of the best overall weapons you can use for big game, and the shotgun is great for small game and birds. The bow usually takes down big game with one shot. The shotguns are probably the best all-around weapons. It's kinda cheesy, in my opinion, to use the shotgun to kill everything. You can really rack up some combos with the shotgun, tho, because you are actually hitting the targets but not killing them with one shot. Another thing I don't like is switching from weapon to weapon. It would be nice if you could just pick a couple weapons like the bow, the shotgun, and one rifle, and have just 3. Just like Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011, you switch weapons with the joystick on the nunchuck. It's not too bad, but you actually have 5 weapons to choose from when you earn them, and in a pressure situtation, you can over-manipulate the joystick and pick the wrong weapon. You have a bolt-action rifle, a semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun, a handgun, and a bow. So far, I've determined the semi-automatic rifles and handguns are almost worthless in the game. Starting out, your bolt-action rifle and bow are your best friends. I'm using a 40" flatscreen TV, and it's still difficult to determine which rifle is which sometimes. I actually look at the magazine capacity to tell which one is which most of the time. That's another thing--I personally own a Remington 760 Gamemaster, and it does not hold 20+ rounds! It holds 4+1 in the chamber in real life! Anyway, I'm using my TopShot Elite rifle for this game. I personally think it's the best option. The Z button is the trigger, and the C button is the reload button. A player shoots so much, it's nice to have the softer buttons. It's also nice to have them located together. I tried this game with my Wii Zapper, my CTA Sureshot rifle, and the TopShot, and like I said, the TopShot was and is definitely the best option for me. High scores demand accuracy for this game (a lot like Grand Slam North America), so it's nice to use a rifle-type controller with a stock for stability's sake. You don't ever want to miss to make it thru some of the levels. I have made it through the first 18 levels in about 6 hours, and several of them are extremely challenging. I think I have 3 more levels to go, and Level 19 is almost impossible! I think the idea of the game is to get at least a bronze medal on each level, and then go back and get a gold medal on each level after you've unlocked the best weapons. Ok, all that having been said, the game is extremely challenging, but also extremely fun. There are so many critters to shoot that it's darn near impossible to get them all. The sound effects and graphics are tremendous. The music is also very good. I know I concentrated a lot on nit-picking the negatives, but play this game for yourself, and you will see how good it is. I put it in the same class as Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 and Top Shot Arcade. Overall, a very excellent game--well worth the money.

AMAZING GAME
BEST WII GAME EVER!!!! Everyone loves it! This is better then those Cabela's Big Game hunting machines you see in bars/ restaurants. You get what you pay for! Constant action and endless fun.

would not buy
would not recommend this game. Takes to many shots to kill animals. To many buttons to toggle between.Had to shot bears 7 times and other predators several times and still got life points taken away. The screen moves to quick to track animals, bow had to pull and hold trigger to cock then release trigger to shoot, there is no discription on how to use bow.Overall this game is not worth buying.

The seller was great and quick
The seller was great and quick. The game is not as advertised - it feels slow and clunky. Seek other games if you are looking for that big buck hunter experience. It is worth the price but not any dollar more.

Husband and 4 year old both love it!
It's easy to use and both my husband and four year old love playing this hunting game. The animals are very fast paced as they zip across the screen and you learn quickly how to be quick. Even though hutning and shooting games in general don't appeal to me, it's a hit at our house and I see more remmington games joining this on in our home in the future.

Great for kids!
The ONLY reason I gave this 3 stars is because I don't think it's all that challenging for adults who are used to playing video games. My son wanted this for my husband for his birthday. Both have LOVED playing it. My son is 4 and is learning to point the Wii remote and pull the trigger. I've had to help him aim for the first few weeks, but he's slowly getting it. It's perfect for kids!

A Blast!!
Super fun game for 4 people. Maybe not realistic, but if it was it wouldn't be such a great multi-player game
