⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I bought the InSinkErator Badger 5 as a replacement for another disposal that stopped working. My plumber recommended this brand, noting that it has a solid reputation and a good life expectancy—and I can see why.Installation went smoothly, and the unit runs much quieter than my old one. It handles all types of food scraps with ease and hasn’t struggled with anything I’ve thrown at it so far. It’s efficient, reliable, and just does what it’s supposed to do.Overall, a great product from a trusted brand. Very happy with the purchase!

Easy install - Relative to doing anything under the sink.
Did a kitchen refresh after 20 some years. This included a new countertop. Well, if you get a new countertop, you get a new sink. A new sink, a new garbage disposal. The original disposal was still working but very noisy and shook everything on the counter. It went with the old countertop, so I did not have to remove it. That made the job more tolerable. Who likes crawling under a kitchen sink at 70? In-Sink-Erators always seemed to be a good brand and the price seemed decent enough. 1/2H replacing a 1/2H. Package came with all of the parts necessary to install the garbage disposal. However, keep in mind that if you are attaching a dishwasher to it, you may need to get an additional adapter to attach the drain line to the garbage disposal. You may also need to get the proper wire connector to attach the electric line to it. Check these two things out before you get started and it will save you some frustration.Installation is straight forward. Just read the instructions and follow them. I did just what the instruction said to do and how. There were no leaks, runs or errors. I would suggest taking some thought to how it is to hook up to the drain line. Make sure you have it turned to a position that will line up with how you want to attach the drain line. You will need to attach connector part to the sink so as to allow you to attach the GD to it in a way (position) that will line it up properly once the GD is turned into place. The somewhat difficult part for me was getting the electric line attached. Just awkward working under the sink in a tight spot.Once attached and the plumbing done, it was now time to try it out. Wow, what a difference. Smooth and just a hum. No rumbling and shaking. Works as expected. I had to get my wife to come in and listen to it. No longer will she have to catch things vibrating off the countertop. Score one for me!

Installation was easy! Works great
I purchased this to replace my old 1/3 HP Insinkerator garbage disposal that had started leaking from the bottom due to a bad seal. I suspect the old unit was original with the house, so 10ish years old. I initially thought I would have to hire someone to install this, but after a bit of research, it seemed very doable! I’m a 28 year old woman and I was able to follow a YouTube tutorial and install this unit by myself with a few tools—flathead/phillips head screwdrivers, plumber’s putty and a plastic scraper (to clean up old putty). I installed the provided sink flange and rubber splash guard as well. Only took me about an hour from start to finish. Fitment was great, installation seamless, works perfect—no complaints! 5 stars.

Easy to install when replacing an old unit
Decent quality. You’ll have to buy a new one about every 5-7 years even with fairly limited use, it’s just the nature of the appliance. It’s pretty easy to remove the old one and install the new one. Just remember to remove the knockout cap for the dishwasher if you have one.

Great Produxr
First, I wanted to say that my purchase was a "Used - Like New" condition.Shipping was extremely fast. I received the garbage disposal 2 days before it was suppose to arrive. The unit was in new condition and was never installed from the looks of the unit. When I opened the box I was a little disappointed in seeing the 90° discharge pipe was broken at the flange. I'm unsure if this was why it was originally returned or happened during shipping. This was a simple and cheap fix at the hardware store. The price I paid, plus the replacement parts still made it will work buying a Used unit. The rest of the install was simple and easy to do even for a first time do it yourselfer. My unit is a 1/2hp and has plenty of power to handle normal prep/ scraps.

very quiet
Works well, very quiet, much more so than previous one. Husband hooked up in a couple of hours. Same size as my previous one.

Dependable and Lasting, Easy to Install, Quiet operation - RECOMMENDED
Dependable and Lasting, Easy to Install, Quiet operation - RECOMMENDEDLike clockwork - these last about 8-9 yrs before they start to rust out and drip - we are on our fourth badger 5 / 500 in 20yrs (they do come with a 5yr warranty but only once was it kind enough to die inside the warranty period and a simple phone call to the company verified the registered item and a new one was mailed out). Wish they lasted longer but given the crap that most companies make these days this is a top performer for under $120. The swap out is easy as the unit seats with a mechanism that raises it up and compresses the seals with a quarter turn using an oversized included alan wrench. RECOMMENDED

easy to install, last long time
I replaced my Badger 5 that has lasted 10 years, so I know Badger disposal last beyond the warranty periodsThe attachment is still the same so replacement is quickHowever, I forgot that certain Badgers kits do not come with power cord or connectors. My original Badger 5 had a built-in power cord, so I have to cut, strip and then I was able to connect to the new Badger unitIt also did not come with a cord relief connector, so I had to provide that tooOtherwise, installing was easy
