Rage Powersports Apex J-Rack Kayak or Canoe J-Rack Vehicle Roof Carrier

This rack is ok. You get what you pay for. I would recommend it for small or light kayaks that can be lifted and mounted from the side of the vehicle. I have an Ocean Kayak Prowler 13 which I have to mount from the back of my car, and slide it to the front. The rubber protection on the rack, ripped and fell off. Now, I found that to solve this problem, I have to carry a ladder in my car to avoid having to slide it. Once the kayak is in position and secure it does it's job.The other issue I had was with the bolts to secure the brackets. The ones that come with the rack are not threaded all the way so I had to replace them to be able to secure the rack to the cross bar.

When I received the rack one of the screw nuts did not have a screw in it, and one was in the wrong end. The bar that goes across the roof crossbar that gets screwed over it needs to be wider to go across wider crossracks, or somehow more convertible. When we tryed putting the kayaks on the racks they bent very easy also.

Bought these to attach to my Thule lad bars and I need to constantly tighten them. The foam wore off after one use.would not recommend.
