Must have for any guitarist, though could be cheaper offline
Locking strap is a must have for anyone who wants to use their guitar when standing. The normal leather straps don't hold up well in the long run, especially for electric guitars. The forces required to unlock the strap is uneven, one strap is easy to operate while the other is a bit rough. Once in place, it doesn't move. The Strap is not the most prettiest thing, but I guess decent colors are available. Bought this for 704 rupees, but it was available locally for 600. Not much of a difference I know but sometimes every rupee matters.

Its good...but expected newer locking mechanism.
The product is good, i thought it would come with the updated design..( the model no. Is different its 202 not 200) so if you go for this...it would be exactly like this. Locking mechanism isn't the smoothest. Only concern for me is the back padding its just adequate, not excessive rubber padding like seen in the newer version. (Update- every planetwave strap on amazon, are selling the same type of locking mechanism even though the product page shows different image so don't waste your time buying and returning all those)

Important Note: Don't trust leather ends on guitar straps. Leather degrades, especially when not properly conditioned (which most people don't do with guitar strap ends), and then it can tear. My last guitar strap tore through, and it was made/sold by Fender so it wasn't a cheap one. My guitar hit the floor pretty hard. This D'addario/Planet Waves strap is a huge improvement over that happening. It feels very sturdy and durable. My husband has an older model with a different locking mechanism, and I think this is an improvement. It also uses a much softer covering on the buckle, which seems to be coated in a rubbery stuff that really isn't scratchy. Both my 7-strings are black, so scratches would readily be noticeable and I try to avoid that since I don't want my gear looking crappy on stage. My only quasi-complaint is potential lack of comfort, especially if you like your strap super short to avoid carpal tunnel issues. I don't have mine quite that short, but anyone who has it rubbing their neck is going to get sore from it. The webbing is somewhat scratchy on the skin, though not horrible. I wore a t-shirt testing it, so it didn't rub my neck like that when I lengthened it, but in a tank top I may not be too happy. Still, I can buy/make a pad for it. This is a very reasonably-priced choice if you want to avoid your guitar hitting the floor. Mine was okay, thankfully, though there is slight cosmetic damage. A hollow-body, or semi-hollow, would not have fared as well. I will be ordering one for every one of our guitars. Any stage musicians should at least be using the buckles from these on whatever strap they like, because fans grab gear all the time (or drunks stumble onto the stage in bars). Insurance is great, but it's so much better not to lose your gear at all.
