A Thoughtful New Approach to Overeating
I found this book a very compelling read. Diets come and go, but regardless of what diet is `in,' inevitably all the books blame food as the source of the problem of weight gain. What Carol Look has done is look into a few of the underlying causes of weight gain caused by overeating, and explain a way to quickly, easily, and effectively address this problem. Enough is Enough focuses on the technique of Tapping, a technique that has similar beneficial effects of acupuncture without the needles. Similar to acupuncture, Tapping accesses points in your body through which energy flows, called meridians. By using Tapping in conjunction with the repetition of affirming phrases, you can clear up issues that have been keeping energy from flowing correctly.Although this book directly addresses people who struggle with overeating, the principles and techniques it prescribes are applicable to a wider range of issues. You will find this book most helpful if you have physical problems that stem from underlying emotional issues or stress. Early on, the book emphasizes that these techniques are very versatile, and can help with many different issues from overeating to procrastination. For other medical issues, such as chronic pain stemming from an illness or injury, you might find that your improvement isn't as dramatic. However, as many conditions have a psychological aspect, Enough is Enough is a great resource. It is written in a very approachable, thoughtful manner, and clearly lines out instructions and examples. Readers will find it a helpful support long after the latest diet has come and gone.

Exercises not just for overeating
An often overlooked aspect of weight loss is the emotional aspect that food plays in eating. It's easy for someone to tell you to just go on a diet and start exercising more, but often this advice does nothing to combat the underlying reasons that you have this problem in the first place. Carol understands that there can often be strong emotions attached to eating, and her Emotional Freedom Techniques can be used to combat these emotions associated with eating. She takes time to explain why these emotions develop and why diets won't work for everyone with this problem. She gives personal examples of her experiences with these EFTs. Overall, a reader will get the feeling that she has really taken the time to understand their problems. One of the great things about many of the techniques she shares is that they can be used to help with other things, such as procrastination, not just emotional overeating. Tapping is a way of focusing and meditating to help with problems. This book is not just simply a diet book, but a lifestyle book focused on emotional eating.

Not what I'd hoped for
I truly adore Carol Look! But this booklet is geared for beginners. Nonetheless, I took off 65 lbs using EFT/tapping.

Tap before you snack!
The emotional stereotype is often that when women are sad they curl up with a pint of ice cream and eat their feelings. While, I'm more of a brownie batter and cheese balls type of gal there's a lot of truth to the affects of emotional eating. This book helped me break the vicious cycle of emotional overeating. I would become emotional, eat, and then get upset because I had overate and eat again. I was gaining weight and becoming less motivated. But this book helped me recognize the trends and triggers to my emotional eating and use EFT techniques such as "tapping" to stop the cycle. I'll always have emotions and always have to deal with different emotions throughout my life but, no longer will I eat my way through them. This book has changed my life and the way that I navigate through the seas of change. My coping mechanisms and strategies have changed and my body is thanking me for it. I'm at the beginning of a journey, but if I stick to the techniques and resources I've learned in this book. I'll weigh less, eat less, and spend less at the grocery store.

Great book!
Carol Look's Enough is Enough: How to Stop Emotional Overeating is a must-read for anyone who has experienced emotion-based problems. Look is professional, funny, and never patronizing. Most importantly, her advice actually works!Emotional overeating is not an issue resolved easily. People usually approach this problem by attempting to deal with its symptoms: the food and resulting weight-gain. Since the reason for overeating is not actually addressed, such a strategy may lead to a worsening of the problem as the person focuses on his or her weight gain and stresses further. Enough is Enough underlines this fact to the reader, and then sets to provide tools for the management of the underlining cause of overeating: emotions.Look is a therapist and an inspirational coach all in one. Her experience with patients struggling against addiction problems is apparent in the confident and professional manner she approaches the issue. Best of all, she provides a technique readers can use to actually resolve their emotion-based addictions. Emotion Tapping is easy, painless, and guaranteed to alleviate the problem if used regularly.Definitely recommended!

For Sugar Addicts Too, This Book Works!
I wasn't sure how much I was going to relate to this book- I do have problems with stress eating but didn't thinkI totally fit into the 'emotional overeating' category. However, after reading the first chapter and description ofa woman's stress eating- especially the too much sugar part, which is my main problem- I knew it did address me.The author comes across like a genuinely invested healer who was frustrated with not being able to help her clientsstress and overeating, and found a solution. Her description of the technique she ended up using- called EFT- is convincing, especially because I had heard of the technique before- I have a lifelong family friend who is a therapist and has usedthis for years with her clients, for trauma. It never occurred to me that it could be used for overeating or stress eating! The descriptions of exactly how to implement the technique are surefire and the progress scale given actually measuresthe success you are having.Definitely worth it!

Great intro to tapping for overeating
Carol Look is a very gifted EFT Master and makes lots of resources available via her own site, YouTube and her contributions to webinars. That's how I first found her and I recently checked out this little gem - mainly because it was cheap and cheerful - and I wanted to see how it complemented some other work I've been doing. It's only available on Kindle (which I don't have), but Carol gives you the link to download the free software to a desktop and I've been able to read it, plus hook into the link for the audio segment. It's a clear and concise introduction to tapping and provides some suggested scripts for specific aspects of the feelings we may have related to overeating. Easy to use, easy to follow, the outcome is then up to you. This is a neat little guide and at this price there's no reason not to buy!
