Hello Baby! (Classic Board Books)

Mem Fox is a truly incredible onset and rhyme children's book writer. Every expecting parent that I am lucky enough to be part of their life, I purchase books for as part of their gift. As a children's language and literacy specialist, these are a core part of my reading library and what I recommend for setting up your child for long term literary success. Besides that, the incredible joy and connection it brings for the child and parent.

I bought this book when my daughter was 14 months old and she took to it right away. Mem Fox's rhythmic language is always pleasing but Steve Jenkins' illustrations take the cake. The animals are detailed enough to be appreciated by adults but have the right amount clear shape language and bold contrast to be pleasing to young, developing eyes. We have come up with hand movements for every animals, like pointing to the sky for the eagle, yawning wide for the hippo, ruffling hair for the warthog, etc. It makes it more interactive, which toddlers seem to love. Overall, a wonderful book to introduce body terms and new animals.

We love reading this book to our baby. We read this book to my nieces when they were younger, and were so happy to read this to our baby now that we have one.

Love this book! Super cute, and fun to animate with voice and movement while reading. Our favorite part is the last page with the handprints. My son and I finish the book putting our hands in the spot every time we read it. He got this as a baby and still loves it as a 4-year-old. We have multiple versions and for this one, it was his preschool birthday read, so we had his classmates sign the book as it is a durable hardcover.

They love looking at the pictures

My 1 year old baby loves this book! He loves the large, vivid animal faces and actually responds to each line. He touches the pictures (especially the eyes) while smiling and babbling when we read it (just about daily). It's a simple book with funny lines and great illustrations. It also has a very sweet ending.

A gorgeous book for a baby; beautiful, bold illustrations and a simple, heartwarming text. A perfect present for a new baby.

Especially bought this as this is my toddler's favorite as I am reading this for almost 8+ months. Earleir used a library copy and now got our own. From infant stage until toddler stage, this book is engaging. one of our sleep time ritual.

The book content itself is great! But book came unwrapped with torn and dented edges. And stains all over. Terrible.

Bought this for my great niece for her 1st Birthday. I am sure she will love it
