These "practice tests" are much more difficult and time-consuming than the actual test (which I passed). While it is better to be more prepared than less, and understanding the concepts in this book is a good idea, beware that taking these tests might make you freak out that you are going to fail. These problems are more similar to the CERM practice problems and the 6-minute solutions problems (which we all know take much more than 6 minutes), it's just that they are in a test format. Your best bet for a realistic practice test is the one made by NCEES. Unfortunately, they only have the one...

Great product

I took and passed the PE in April 2016. I was disappointed with the difficulty of this manual as anybody else was but on Test Day, I realized that the afternoon session was significantly more difficult than the morning session. I lifted the pen up with just enough time to make educated guesses on the questions I did not mark anything for.So, while you have to take the practice in these depth exams with a grain of salt, it will prepare you mentally for the worst Test Day scenario.

The questions in this book are well thought out but impractical. Questions are unlike the ones you will find on the exam. I used this book for my practice tests but you could spend a lot of time answering the questions and gain little confidence or knowledge.

There's nothing like doing practice problems to help you prepare for the big test. I found these problems to be a bit deeper and more challenging than the actual exam problems, which is just how you want it to be! And of course, the most important part is the solutions section in the back, to help you figure out what you missed.With this, the CERM, and the 6-minute solutions book, you're pretty much covered for the WRE Depth section.

This book is atrocious. Many of the solutions are plainly wrong, the questions require obscure knowledge, and costs way way too much for what you get. I'm going to write a better guide when I take the exam and post it free on the interwebs- witness!

With NCEES practice exams readily available, it should not be that difficult to write practice problems similar to what is typically on the exam. While mastering this book might help you be over prepared, it is an extremely inefficient use of time, and busy engineers don't have time to waste when preping for the exam.
