Used to be an amazing product, metal band is thinner now and falls off belt.
Used to be an amazing product, metal band is thinner now and falls off belt. Please switch back to thicker metal on the belt band strap.Bummer that it is so thin it bends now and falls off all the time.Might be why the price went down? It use to be about $20I would pay that again to replace my 2 new ones I bought for me and my apprentice.

Be careful.
I had a tape holder similar to this before and it lasted a lot longer than this one did.Two problems.1. The magnet is way to strong even when you have a big tape.2. The belt clip is easily bent.

Attention: Quality Control Department
Day 1: The belt clip bent out and now I have to constantly bend it back tight.Day 4: The tape measure got caught on a desk, it fell, and the magnetic ring separated from the part attached to the tape measure itself.I love these and have owned many over the years. I compared this one to one of my other clips and it seems as if the metal quality has been downgraded significantly. Additionally, as shown in the picture, you can see the shoddy few splotches of glue that were applied inconsistently, at that.Simply Disappointed as I have been advocating this clip for many years. I hope quality control is listening.

OK but proceed with caution with a QuickDraw tape measure
I bought a QuickDraw 25' tape measure also form Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P14T90W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00) to pair with this holder. I have it installed and without putting it to actual use it feels like it's well enough in place. HOWEVER: the magnetic disc that attaches to the tape measure is held in place by a heavy peel-off adhesive pad and further secured with a small screw. This tape required some detailed cutting of the adhesive pad to conform to the tape's side as the tape had a protruding dimple to be accounted for as well as the tape's original belt clip channels. This was not easy to do, but fortunately I had jewelry tools and sharp blades to do the cutting and teasing away of the unwanted adhesive. Further, the little screw that secured the original belt clip to the tape was barely adequate to tighten down the magnet to the tape, it was so small a screw I had to use a little washer to keep it from falling through the hole. I'm not sure how long this arrangement will work, when I'm on a rough framing project I'm using the tape dozens of times per day, not sure if it will all stay together over the long haul. This screw issue isn't Magtite's problem, they do provide a much beefier screw to hold the magnet to a tape measure, it's just this particular tape doesn't have a big enough hole for it. If it weren't for the hassle of getting things to fit and feeling secure about it I think it's a good product, it just not be well suited for this tape measure.

Worth buying just wish it had a stronger magnet
The first time I bought one of these was back in 1995, A few years later when it started getting old and I needed a new one I couldn't find it anywhere it was off the market for years, from time to time I would search online to see if it was available again but nothing, until all the sudden here it was on Amazon, so without a second thought I grabbed it (meanwhile I was still using the old one from 1995 I had Apoxsee it a few times to help it keep going) now here is something strange the old one from 1995 the magnet is so powerful and I have to use a lot of force to take it off which is good because the tape measure ain't going anywhere when I am walking in the hallways and a lot of times it bangs on walls door jams etc. this new one even though it is identical the magnet it is not as strong as the old one as the tape measure is on my belt if I bump it somewhere it goes flying on the floor. so while it is very convenient for me to have the tape measure on my belt magnetically connected, it sucks how easy it falls of, just wish the magnet was stronger, still worth buying though .

make tape measure mobile and readily available not matter what piece of equipment is being used.
I took the magnet and attached it to the tape measure. I did not use the belt loop portion.now I have a tape measure on all my forklifts and never have to look for one again.

Very cheap belt clip
Belt clip is very thin and cheaply made. I’m in the electrical trade and use this daily. I’ve owned at least 6 of these holders and the current ones have changed the clip that hooks on your belt. It is so thin that when you try to pull tape measure from holder, it bends the clip and comes right off your belt.Disappointing that the manufacturer is now making a cheaply made product

Belt clip holds very securely on belt but also can easily slide along belt if you need to re-position it for sitting down or reaching into your pocket or just moving it out of the way.The magnet is very strong.I actually put a small piece of masking tape over part of the magnet towards the top to lessen some of the pull of the magnet because it was so difficult to remove my tape.I would rather have it too strong than have my tape get knocked on the floor all the time.I have it mounted on a 16' tape but on occasion use a 25' and it would be nice if they sold it with two magnets and one belt clip.My only issue is that the magnet is so heavy that the tape measure will fall over on its side if you let go to mark off a dimension, and if you are measuring near an edge and let go, your tape will go straight to the floor .Just something you have to deal with.Over all I would definitely recommend it and am glad I got it.
