I REALLY wanted this to work... constructive feedback

I REALLY wanted this to work. I mean REALLY. I saw the negative reviews but the hope that they were wrong was strong enough that I bought the bulk pack. I’ve continued using them for every combination of loads - small load, large load, towels, blankets, clothing loads in hopes they would start working or catch anything at all. I will probably continue to use them because I already bought them and I believe in second chances, and 100th chances. I hate to leave a negative review so instead I’m offering so constructive feedback.Good Stuff:Cool conceptAttempts to solve actual problemPretty colorsInexpensiveFun shape of floaty thingBad Stuff:Doesn’t actually catch lint or hair or anything at allFinal words - this is a neat concept and I hope the inventor will go back to the drawing board to find a way to actually make this work. The problems that will have to be overcome in the next version: The floating piece cannot actually stay on the surface of the water because of centrifuge and inertia and the laws of nature. The net is cone shaped which can’t actually trap anything even if it was put in there before starting the wash - think ‘lobster trap’ it should be easier for the lint to get in than get out. The device is free floating which means it’s spinning at the same rate as everything else - maybe if it was stationary or attached, it could skim the top of the water and pull the lint/hair/whatever as the water is pushed through.

Not working? Try this:

I was, at first, highly disappointed. I have cats and dogs and bunnies and there is hair everywhere! Except in these things... Not a single strand was in the little net. I was pretty bummed... The netting just floated around and stayed bunched up never really opening up all the way.Not one to give up, I tried putting marble in each of the nets. Totes worked. Tons of hair and lint in them. Less hair and lint in the dryer lint screen. To sum up: put a marble in the little net to make it work.

CHEAP MADE /PASS this up and try wool dryer balls instead

Tried one each, a pink : promptly BROKE and ripped open , blue one held up ok, but you can see the wear after one use, doubtful this would last long, used in a LIGHT load to see how well it would work, item will NOT work on a front load washer or a HE, you need a full washer of water with freedom of movement for this to work properly , over all a neat idea but a failed product, , Wool dryer balls worked better at pet hair removal

Just not doing it for me

I have tried this on three loads of laundry and so far it only caught hair the first time. Even then it was very little. I tried sheets and blankets as well as a load of laundry and nothing. I will try a couple more loads and see what happens. If it gets better, I'll update. I have two small, but long haired dogs so there is plenty of hair to catch. A little disappointing because it would have been so useful if it had worked.

Works sometimes but often not

These are a hit or miss. Out of 6 washings, 2 actually accumulated lint in the nylon basket. I have a top loading machine and I normally run a deep wash cycle so the filter should be on top of the water to collect lint. My dark clothing still had lint after I washed a load. I’ll continue to use them since I bought them but I’ll never buy again until they perfect the design

Not worth buying

You must have to have A LOT of animal hair for these to work like it shows in the ad. Everytime I use mine they're empty or hardly anything in it.

These work great!

I like to hang my clothes outside to line dry. Unfortunately washers made in this decade no longer have a lint trap. Manufacturers reasoned that most people use a dryer to dry their clothes so they stopped putting lint traps in washers. I can't imagine how many more dryer fires are occurring because of this reasoning. Drying lint covered clothing out on a line is futile because you can't get the lint off the clothes when they're wet or dry. I've had to use a lint brush on clothing and bedding, much to my frustration. Then I found these. They trap most, but not all of the lint. I gave some to family and friends because I ordered a box of them and only need one for now. I can hang my laundry out on the line and they're no longer covered in lint:) It also helps with clothes that I put in the dryer. They generate less lint than they used to.

Not for front load washers

Shipped fairly fast from China. I have a front load washer and these do not work with it, probably because there isn’t enough water moving in the drum
