So far so good
Wanted to upgrade the included filter that came with my superfish 45l tank wanted to stick with a HOB filter as having effective media helps make the cycle better. The filter is great but make sure you modify the media and get different types as the filter floss style will gunk up very quickly. Check out pimp my filter on YouTube for great mods to media. The filter is quiet when you get the air bubbles out and runs really well. I thought I had a leak and their support was super quick to respond. It turned out to be me not tightening the fitting enough. This filter is super Update. I now have three of these. They are the best filter. Cheap, quiet and flexible. Minimum tank recommended is 30x30x30cm I have one on my shallow tank working well but needed a lot of modification.

Value for money
I have 4 fish tanks .And wanted to set my 80 liter up as a planted aquscape .So I wanted the filter on my 110 for that.this filter is now on my 110 I have converted in to a rimless tank.to do a fuel aquscape .But now it's being used to grow out ten blue power parrots.i received this filter yesterday. And filled it with just over a liter of good quality bio gravel wich was seasoned from my 300lt tank .so set it up as the pond guru suggested. More or less.the flow is really good considering all the foam and bio gravel it has to work through. When I set it up I filled it with water then placed it on to my tank .turned the filter on and it took about 30 secs of coughing before full flow.it did have a slight vibration noise from the impeller. Wich was gone this morning.very impressed for £25 .If you need a filter for an open top tank this is the one.best filter I've seen for the money I have a fluval 407 .207 jewel bio xl Interpet cf3 cf2 .this is quite 6watts and holds a decent amount of media.dont take my word for it .pimp my filter u tube he says it better.5 stars.

Great filter
I loved my fluval edge hob that I've previously used on same tank. 36*27*30cm 30L But there was few issues that I didn't like like water dropping from higher level which meant more noise and more evaporation. This filter solved my problems. It's really a mix between hobs and external filters. First of all, you still hanging the filter so you're saving floor space. No long pipes that needs cleaning. It has 5x more space for media/filtration than usual hobs and you can dip the return pipe in the water on good safe level to still have movement needed for air while halfing your evaporation. It's almost as quiet as the fluval edge hob but you're saving water drop noise which makes it better! Reducing inlet and outflow is a given in those but helps to regulate to your needs. Well worth £25!!! Update: it's getting air in somehow and getting noisy with time....restarting help to take out air but only temporarily :(

Fantastic but add better bio media.
10 month review. Brilliant filter, no leaking, great flow and filtration (with altered bio media). There's a fantastic review on YouTube by PondGuru for this and I suggest you follow his advice for it. It's been amazing while my 100 litre tank was overstocked for about 7 months and I had zero Ammonia and zero Nitrites thanka to the filtration. Fortunately, it's heavily planted so I needn't worry about Nitrates either. The spray bar outlet traps air in easier so you get that awful sound for awhile any time you stop and start the pump. You need to tilt the filter to try and get the air out but it's not a problem with the hose outlet. It's fairly quiet, I wouldn't say it's noisy.

Good Product (eventually) Bad customer service.
I had problems with this filter. After being in use for several days, it started making a horrendous loud noise. After investigation, I found this to be because the water level didn't stay full, so it couldn't function properly. The customer service was not great. They finally sent a replacement, but that too had the same fault. Again, I returned the item and got a replacement and this one worked fine. They seem to think it was a mistake I was making with setting the filter up, but it wasn't. I have kept tropical fish now for several years, so I don't make amateur mistakes. So, although the third one I received worked fine, im giving a low star rating as the customer service was not good, and the agent I emailed with was actually quite rude on some emails, stating "we'll replace it one more time but then you'll have to order a new one"

Ottimo per le prime settimane, montato su un 80litri…dopo un mese circa, per funzionare perfettamente e senza rumori fastidiosi, necessita una pulizia settimanale, impensabile per un filtro acquario… attenzione alla presa UK, serve adattatore
