Fantastic, works great - just a couple notes
The Good:Heats up fast. Works really well. Does everything it says. Top and bottom equal temps. Even heat distribution. Great size for 1-2 people (I can fit 2 actual full size burgers on this thing). This is way better than a Foreman, at a better price. It's actually a Panini-type grill, because of the swivel-hinged top - so it's an even flat press on whatever you're making, unlike the angled Foreman lid. The Foreman is also not a 2-burger grill, for the 2 cheapest ones. It's just shaped improperly tbh. So esp given the significant price difference, this is a clear winner - with a few small buts to come.A couple reviews mentined there's no temp adjustment. This is true. I was concerned it just heated up and kept going, but no it has a max it reaches and tries to stay there. Honestl, I don't see much of a reason to need temp, personally. But I'm using this for Burgers occasionally, sausages, mostly sandwiches/wraps, I did make hash browns because another reviewer did - went fine, but no need in my case, I have enough pans. But yeah if you had limited alternative stovetop options, this can do a lot.If you've ever worked a commercial similar grill, this is a mini immitation. The top is like aluminum and can dent, but it's not like poorly made. But the result is identical IMO. If you've used some you may know a lot of them don't have removable plates, and you already know how to clean these - wet paper towel while it's still hot (just you know be careful). The nonstick is A+.The not so good:The grease runoff. Or lack thereof. So this thing isn't angled to have the grase run to the back - which is good, because it's also not angled to have it run to the center to the spout. Notice I didn't mention trying bacon - after seeing the burger situation, bacon ain't happening unless you're forcing that grease to the spout with a mini spatula or something. But - I assumed this when i saw the pictures. This is common with commercial ones also. Here, the Foreman has a better system. The reason this gets a pass is my tempered expectations - I suspected this to be the case, bought it anyway. The instructions even say this is a Sandwich grill, so they're really not even aiming at meats. Again, 2 burgers was fine. Keep an eye opn the bacon if you don't want a super messy cleanup. The only other thing is lack of removable plates. Again, I knew this. So this is more of a feature request. Along with a request for flipping plates with a smooth side. This would increase the cost but I'd do it.The bottom line:Works as described, grease runoff could be better. Price is a fair shake, I'd even say $20 instead of the $16 I paid would be fair. The size is perfect for smaller kitchens, no kitchens, or just as an add-on to your great kitrchen without heaving an appliance in and out of siome closet or taking up a lot of space on your counter. The company makes a good product so if they make something else that you may want but are unsure about the cost, go for it.If you just want a convenient little electric grill that gets the job done for basic stuff and more, accepting the "non-premium" caveats, this was one of the better buys I've made.

Great sandwich maker for breakfast!
I have tried it for 4 months now. Initially I would be skeptical as I read complaints in many reviews , but after 4 months usage, I would say I love it!Pros:- Heat quickly and efficiently with 1000W (higher power than other sandwich makers) - fully cooked fried eggs for 3 minutes for both sides, onions pancakes for 2-3 minutes for both sides...- Open 180 degrees so that I can use both sides of the pan for multiple cooking at the same time (please refer to my pictures - I can make 4 fried eggs at the same time)- Non-stick, I don't use oil at all for fried eggs etc (just need to wait till it is fully solid until you change the side)- Can cook a variety of food (so far I have tried eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, shrimps, salmon, vegetables, hams...)- Easy to use and easy to clean (just use kitchen towel)Cons:- There is no switch on and off, the only way is to plug on and off (it says it has auto shut off, but I am not sure if that works or not)- There is a designed opening gap in the pan border, make it hard to cook any fluid food, it will flow away to the rubbish pan (attched beneath)- If you put the lid on, it won't support too high sandwiches given the angle. All in all, for the price, it is a great sandwich maker which we explored a lot many varied food options and love it!

Great Choice for Single Cooking
I originally bought this item in July 2018, and after more than six years of regular [daily/weekly] use, I'm finally replacing it - with a new version of the same device. It's been excellent in its role as a space saving countertop multipurpose grill and sandwich maker. I didn't use the waffle plates as much, but when I did, they worked fine. The key is what you expect from it. This item works best as a way to prepare single person meals. I've used it to make toast, fry eggs, make "pancakes" as well as waffles, as a panini press, to heat up veggie patties ... it's quite versatile. It heats quickly and cooks fairly well. The plates are not difficult to switch out and are easily cleaned. I use an oil spritzer for even oiling and have had few problems with food sticking over the years. My only real problem was with the plates getting scratched, and when I wrote to Ovente they were able to provide me with replacements. When I noticed some uneven heating today - something that has never been a problem before - I found what appears to be a cracked lower element. After 6+ years of nearly daily use, I can accept this as a reasonable end of life cycle, and will replace with a new one. In terms of value for money, I think I've done okay with this product.
