Andrew Murray on Prayer

I've read and listened to many Christian books. I haven't even finished this one yet and I already consider it one of the best books I've read. It is a collection of books written by the author. He has a deep understanding of scripture and the realities of being human. He presses forward giving us hope (and a reality check) that we will be more like Christ if we put ourselves in the Master's hands and trust him (really trust him). The first book is about abiding in Christ. It's written in a way that really gets key points across in methodical and digestable pieces. Each new section builds upon the previous. I bought this compendium for certain books in this collection and I haven't even read them yet! I really like this author's style, adherence to scripture, and the depth of wisdom he shares.

I FIRST ORDERED "PRACTICE OF GOD'S PRESENCE" AND I JUST DEVOURED IT !! IN FACT I AM BEGINNING TO READ IT FOR A SECOND TIME. I HAVE BEEN WALKING WITH THE LORD FOR TWENTY-NINE YEARS BUT THIS BOOK TAUGHT ME TRUTHS ABOUT GOD AND JESUS THAT WERE SO NEW TO ME. I FEEL THAT I HAVE GROWN SO MUCH IN MY CHRISTIAN LIFE BY READING THE BLESSED PAGES OF HIS EASY TO READ CHAPTERS. I JUST FINISHED READING "WITH CHRIST IN THE SCHOOL OF PRAYER" AND I ACTUALLY MET THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THIS LITTLE BOOK. IT WAS WONDERFUL ! I KNOW I WILL READ IT MANY TIMES ALSO. I RECCOMMEND MURRAY'S BOOKS TO ANYONE WHO I SEARCHING FOR A DEEPER WALK AND A WAY TO GROW WITH GOD. I JUST RECENTLY ORDERED "ANDREW MURRAY ON PRAYER" AND I LOOK FORWARD TO THE TRUTHS I WILL FIND THERE.

This book is a must read for any Christian who is seeking an intimate relationship with the Lord. I began reading it during a difficult time in my life (when we all seek answers) and Andrew Murray literally took me by the hand and taught me that the most important thing one can do to develop intimacy with the Lord, receive direction in life from Him, and really begin to understand the heart of the Father, is through the single act of continuous, disciplined prayer. It has transformed my Christian walk and I am confident it will do the same for you. However, it is not an easy path and you will find that God is not a microwave. You can just pop in your prayers and expect an immediate answer. Our Lord desires a deep, intimate relationship with His children and it is through deliberate, disciplined prayer, followed by obedience, that we get there. It costs a great deal, but the reward is incomprehensible. Buy this book!

I like this book as it contains 5 additional books combined into one book . Now I have all of the books at my disposal for a quick reference. I have enjoyed this book and highly recommend it as a daily guided and teaching tool for your time spent during the morning and evening alone times. All of Andrew Murrays books are easy to read but very well stated spiritual truths. This book was everything I wanted and more.

This book really is a blessing. I truly believe that the Lord brought me to this book. My prayer life was practically nonexistent. When I prayed, it was just a repetition of the same stuff over and over again. After I started reading this book, my prayer life was completely transformed. I now talk to the Lord as a child to her father and friend and can do so for an hour sometimes without even realizing it! I highly recommend this book.

I've had this book since before I got married. This book is so good that when my wife discovered it a few months ago she started reading it a page a day and then meditating on what she read, as well as praying the same day. Then she started underlining stuff and proclaimed that I had to buy my own copy of the book. :-) It sure is not in the shape I bought it, but I love that I had a book she really enjoys and uses every day.I am reviewing the book because I bought my new copy. She just remarked today that with reading it a page a day and then meditating on what she read and praying the same day she cannot get through the book in a year. I bet she stays with her same schedule anyway.

I was so glad to see the availability of this book, by this author. Andrew Murray is probably my favorite author on prayer. In preparation for teaching on prayer, in my former Mission Society group, i purchased this book in my home town, New Orleans, La., in July, 2005. Hurricane Katrina, the subsequent breach in the levy and flood, destroyed my extensive spiritual treasures, books!!! My current church, in LaGrange, Ga. is planning a study, on prayer. How awesome it is to be able to rebuild my spiritual library.God is awesome that way, More than replenishing all thats lost and more.

I received a different cover than shown on the picture but I actually prefer the one I received.I've been extremely blessed by this book so far - it has truly fanned the flame in my heart and deepened my longing to go deeper in prayer with the Lord.Andrew Murray is a poetic but comprehensive writer - not to mention biblically sound. He really stirs the heart.

Excellent read. It is such clear teaching on the subject and more that is rarely given these days. It has revealed God so much more than I knew and clarified some issues I just could not get my head around. A must.

It has been absolutely wonderful , its easy to follow and you can use it like a daily reading so that you can go over sections again and again .I would recommend it to anyone who struggles with prayer , its focus is about grace and it teaches clearly making a very difficult topic understandable and within reach for the ordinary everyday reader

This book was recommended by a friend and it is all I expected it to be. Thank you. I may order some other books by Andrew Murray. The book was in good condition and arrived on time.
