We added this so my husband can more easily transfer from his wheelchair to the toilet. You must make sure it is tightened really well to the seat, and then you can grab on the side of the riser. It also makes standing easier since it is taller.

This toilet seat riser that locks into place is going to save the day. I'm elderly, disabled, and have upcoming surgery that will require me to be able to get up from the toilet without holding on to anything that would put any stress on my arm. This seat arrived today and it will do the job. I have an older style toilet that is rather low to the ground and I couldn't really afford a new high rise toilet right now so decided to give this a try.The seat itself is very comfortable to sit on. The EZ lock does secure the riser to the toilet. Just to be on the safe side, I do always suggest checking before each use to make sure it's still securing in place. At 5'3", it's just the right height I needed to easily sit down and get up from the toilet. The other thing I like about this model is that it has a little curve in the very front of the seat to make it easy to clean yourself. Originally I tried the other Carex model that does NOT have the lock or the curve in the front. That seat is NOT secure and wobbles any time you lean just a little to one side or the other. It is a safety risk. Because I like the design of the seat though I decided to try this model and I'm glad I did. The other one is going back but THIS IS A KEEPER!!! Thank you Carex!!

Well made but far too tall for me

This toilet seat is hard and sturdy plastic and seems to be well constructed but it was way to hard and tall for use after a hip replacement. It kind of made me lean back a bit and my bottom squished in to the opening. It was so hard on my hip and caused a lot of pain. It is probably good for other surgeries if you're taller than 5'5" or have a stool to use too.It screwed on to the toilet and didn't wobble so it seemed secure that way. If you're having a hip replacement I'd go with a different style of seat, I ended up buying a new one with a bench type seat with hand rails and a cushion seat.

Not one of my most exciting purchases, lol. But it was really needed after my knee replacement and I was so glad I had it. It raised me up high enough so I didn't over bend my knee.

Tried everything to get this on tight and it kept coming off. Waste of money and too late to return. Don’t waste your money.
