Kaytee Timothy Hay Plus Spearmint/Marigold/Carrot 3 Flavor Variety Pack for Pet Guinea Pigs, Rabbits & Other Small Animals, 60 Ounce (Pack of 1)

I have three guinea pigs at home, one mine, one sanctuary and one foster. They are hungry boars and love hay very much. I normally buy the 50lb boxes of Oxbow Timothy Hay but I was running extremely low and the boys would be without hay for a day if I didn’t get some in. This hay is great quality. It is clean, no dirt or weeds. It is chopped, which gives it a texture different from whole hay. It makes it easier to pick out favorite pieces which may be a downfall for some picky babies as they may waste it. I checked through it and there is a good balance if thicker base stalk, softer tops and hay heads. In fact, this hay is stuffed with hay heads. The “flavors” are a handful of dried items on the top of each bag. They hay smells really nice and fresh and the dried flowers, carrots and spearmint add nice smell. Price wise, this stuff is SO expensive compared to what I normally buy. For a One Day one off shipment, a great price. For feeding the monchie boys regularly, not great on the wallet. Comparing per ounce price, this hay is .30 Cents per ounce compared to .05 cents for the 50lb Oxbow. I don’t see buying this unless an emergency situation, because even the amount of added topping isn’t enough to make it super special like a treat.

My rabbits like the hay- it seems to be lower dust although I do have to throw away the last 10% of the bag since it’s really small parts and our current rabbit sneezes a lot. However, this is less waste then when I buy a large bag. I like that there are 4 small separate bags.The flavors are small pieces of dried fruit that are usually on top of the hay. No word yet from my rabbit which flavor he prefers

Great quality, fast shipping, fresh, quality packaging, bunnies love it and it’s a much better deal then buying from grocery or pet store. Will be buying this from now on for my fur babies.

The marigold and carrot flavor grass. The marigolds and carrots where just sprinkled on top of each packet.I dont know if that's how they come?I figured they would be spread throughout the entire packageReguarless the Timothy hay was fresh and my piggy did seem to enjoy itThis is going to last my for a while!

My guinea pigs are not enjoying this hay. It’s stemmy and they leave a lot of stalks behind. I gave them Oxbow Timothy before and they ate it all up. This variety pack is filled with many carrot pieces, marigold blossoms, and spearmint leaves. I thought they would enjoy it! But they aren’t. Perhaps it’s a bad cutting or the hay is too dry. I won’t buy again. If your guinea pigs aren’t picky and you’re looking for a variety for a lower cost, this is great; however, your animals may end up leaving half of it in the cage.
