Guess i'll ask again - i have an extra hole for a tap on mine. not airlock. it's by the bottom. does it need a particular type or size?

It will accomodate a standard size spigot for bottling or transfering from the bucket. Just search for beer spigot on Amazon, they are around $3-$5 a piece.

What is a bottling bucket?

You transfer the fermented beer into this and fill your bottles with a spigot attached to the bottom of the bucket. If you are bottling and not kegging you need this
