What's the best size portion pack for the eight quart Whirley-Pop, 4 or 6 ounce?

are you sure your whirley pop pan is 8 quart (not 6?) I have never seen an 8 quart one. (I use the 4oz for my 6qt popper.) I would love a bigger popper! I am going to look around now!!! I am totally jealous!

A 4 oz portion pack makes half that amount. so 4= 16 cup ur looking at 2oz bag.but from size of machine I have I could pop 2 bags and have room so might be able to get away with 1 4 oz bag.

can you use the popcorn packs to cook popcorn in a pot on the stove or, do you need a popper?

I have been popping corn on the stove top for over 60 years. I have used microwave popcorn and would eat it in a pinch but prefer stove top. I used a heavy pan on high heat for many years and then found I could use a stock pot (thin bottom), just by lowering the heat.
