Great Clean Sound
This unit is very well built, very solid, all of the controls have a sturdy feel to them. The sound from this unit is very good and is a cost effective way to improve your existing tone if you don't already have an Eden amp. I have not recorded with it yet but have rehersed with it in front of an amp and DI out to board..So far I have been very pleased. The only thing I would change on it would be the Blue light, it is pretty intense, but not a deal breaker.

Finally, my bass has a sound to match it's action.
This pedal is the single best addition to my tone since I started using Avalon U5'sI have a 15 year old Curbow signature Cort 5 string bass that I got when I was studying jazz performance in college. I have always loved the action on this bass. I can play other basses fine, but they never feel as natural as my Cort. The problem is, I don't love it's sound.Enter the Eden world tour DI box premp. As other reviewers have said, Eden could make a pedal with just the enhance nob and it would be worth it. What ever frequencies it pulls out or boosts, it makes ever bass I plug into it sound amazing.I run the compressor pretty hot and it's taken my low B string from being thumpy and out of control, and really gets it to sit in place. Fat and round and buttery. The bass boost button adds so much low end, that with it on I actually have to pull the bass tone nob down a little. Once again, it's a very controlled sound, that evens out my tone. The only thing to be aware of, as soon as you plug this pedal in it's on. When you stomp on the foot switch, you actually engage the bypass. The only pedal I've ever owned where the red light coming on meant my signal was not passing through the circuitry. One of my bands recently moved over to a full in-ear monitoring system, and this pedal works perfectly for that. Because my tone is super controlled, and smooth, across all 5 strings, it sits perfectly in the headphone mix. I dominate the low end, and stay out of the keys' and guitar's way.

Nothing lasts forever
Sounded great for a few years of light use, mostly doing direct recording of a passive J-bass. Then one of the power control diodes managed to de-solder itself from the PC board and bricked the audio (even bypass stopped working). Doubt I'll get another since I prize reliability.I also wish they had found a way to drive this with standard 9V power instead of requiring a higher-voltage transformer. Not a problem in studio, but it was a pain to incorporate into a pedalboard.

Nice DI, but has weird proprietary power supply
Nice DI, but has weird proprietary power supply. Mine broke and I had to repair it as I had trouble tracking down another one.

Great has problems
Apparently these pedals have serious gain stage problems. If you can get one that works properly it is a great pedal. But good luck finding one that works. Oh and if you are ordering via amazon, then expect at least an extra 2 weeks of shipment time since you will more than likely be sending the product back. But no worries, you can purchase another one while you wait for your refund from the first one.

Great unit!!!
This tone of the pedal is outstanding!! It's build is nice and sturdy as well. The low end is very clean and easy to manage to remove any muddiness within the tone. I have always had a tough time controlling distortion into my DAW and the gain staging is very easy on this unit. I barely have to adjust the gain on it to have great tone. The only thing I would consider a slight down side is the thickness of the high-mid frequency range is tough to control. I am a solo bassist and the tone that I prefer with lead solo bass playing, is a thick presence with my highs instead of a metallic bright, tweet type of tone. For backing bass tracks though, this unit is perfect in my opinion. Very simple easy to use and straight forward. I am very glad I made this purchase!!!! Eden is awesome!!!

Nice overall boost to the sound of my various instruments.
First of all, I'm very happy with my purchase of the Eden World Tour Direct Box Preamp Pedal. I like the 3-band EQ alone, but the Enhance control is a nice extra touch as well, Plus the compression control, mid and treble boost buttons add some extra sound articulation that's very appreciated on top of everything else.So far, I've used this pedal for bass guitar and my electric ukulele, I can hardly wait to try my acoustic /electric violin using it :-D. All-in-all I'm very happy with this pedal, and I have no complaints whatsoever.
