Money well spent!
I was impressed by this scope when I took it out of the box, but I wanted to get some range time with it before I wrote a review.I waited a while before actually purchasing it, not because I didn't think it was a great scope but because that is a lot of money toshell out for a scope. I did my research on it and knew it would be great, well I finally purchased it and WOW! After it was deliveredI went to my garage and set it up on am makeshift stand (I did not have the mount yet). I sighted it down my driveway on a bank across the road from my driveway, by the way the distance is 90 yards. I dialed the power up to 32 and adjusted the parallax. I sighted on a dandelion and Icould clearly see the individual petals on the flower, if a bee had been buzzing around it I would be able to see it clearly.I received the mount a day or two later, I would highly recommend a quality mount. I went with the nightforce x-treme duty ultralite unimount. I spent a lot of money on the scope so I wasn't going to skimp on the mount, I would suggest that you do the same.Range day: I am fortunate enough that my father owns a large piece of property and a hunting cabin, so I have built and use my own private range. It is currently 300 yards but I am working on extending it to 600 yards. I zeroed the scope and began working on my steel targets. I set up three sillouettes at 100, 200 and 300 yards. If you haven't shot on steel targets then you are missing out on something great. I am hooked on steel. My targets are set up on brackets that slide over and lock on steel T-fence posts and are attatched to the bracket by a grade 8 carriage bolt. I couldsee the grade lines in the carriage bolt at 100 yards. At 300 yards I could clearly see the bumps on the front side of the posts.I was dialed up to 32x and the size of the 12"x20" target in the scope was large. Like I mentioned earlier I could not only see the post, but thedetails of the post at 300 yards. The scope dialed in quickly and very precise and I myself only shooting at the top 4"x4" projection of the target.I would like to point out that I am not shooting some high dollar custom precision rifle, it is a Remington model 700 VLS heavy barrel in 308. Theonly thing that has been done to the rifle is a trigger job. I was rewarded with sub MOA groups at 300 yards. I quickly discovered that if I shot high on the 4"x4" section of the target, that it would rock back and slide down to the bottom of the post. I found this to be a fun little game and repeated it several time at 100, 200 and 300 yards. The bottom line is, yes this is an expensive scope. I was worried that it would not meet with my expectations and after spending $2400 on it and the mount and that would be tragic. If that is your concern I assure you that this scope is worth every penny. It is very well built and the optics are amazing. The scope can take a lot of abuse as well. watch some of the nightforce torture test videos on youtube.I saved up for this scope for a while and I know if will serve me well for many years to come, probably a lifetime.Thankyou to the folks at Nightforce for building a high quality product, I look forward to many more range sessions. Thankyoufor reading this long review, if you are anything like me then you do a lot of research before buying.THIS SCOPE IS WORTH THE MONEY!!!The best advice I can give is buy the highest quality equipment you can, even if you have to save for a while, that goes for anything.Quality doesn't cost, it pays.

NXS Night Force
Recently purchased, have not mounted to rifle yet. Bought for the MOA/MOA turret and reticle being the same. Leupold user for many years, am changing sides and I hope I like it.Well built from what I see already and it has features not found in my old Mk 4 Leupold. Time will tell after I learn the features and get it dialed in. Pleasantly surprised to discover a 3" sunshade inside the package so I cancelled an order for the same sunshade from another vendor and saved 31 dollars already!!Update to follow when I start using it.Recently purchased, have not mounted to rifle yet. I discovered that dialing in different magnifications requires a bit of muscle to rotate the barrel. Checked with Night Force and they advised it is stiff, on purpose, as there are numerous O-rings in that section for waterproofing and to pass the DoD requirements for acceptance by US forces.I had to buy a throw lever for this scope to get a bit more leverage when dialing up or down on the magnification settings but that was an easy mounting job. I selected a 3D machined throw lever from MK Machining that will specifically fit this scope and now it is a lot easier to adjust; still stiff because of the O-rings inside but the added leverage makes a difference.Couple of shots to illustrate the lever. White grease pencil mark is for reference to the specific magnification for ranging purposes and easier to see when in prone position.

Just purchased a nxs 8-32×56 mounted on a premier Bergara, when I sat my zero I lost over 2 complete revolutions on the elevation turrent , that left me with less than 20 moa . Wtf.....a 8 -32 scope and only get 18 moa of elevation. Iv never had to use a 20moa scope base rail and that was the advice from nightforce. I have 2 other nightforce scopes, and numerous more from Steiner to leopolds and none have needed an elevated rail. Need help!
