Incredible Laptop
This laptop is fantastic, plain and simple, best bang for your buck. The only minor complaints that I have is that the cord from the power pack to the laptop could be longer and that the bottoms of the keys illuminate as well. These are minor quibbles, and in no way detract from its 5 star rating. The keyboard is a pleasure to use, nice feel and sound. The RGB, per key illumination is very bright, and adjustable as well. The graphics are fantastic, easily runs Starcraft 2 at full settings, averaging well over 100fps. Windows 10 boots in seconds, and its just Windows 10, no bloatware whatsoever. The speakers sound nice, not tinny or staticy at all. The finish on it is like a black stainless steel, while it attracts fingerprints, it looks incredible. The battery is removable as well. I couldn't be happier with my decision, Eluktronics clearly knows its demographic.

Its really as great as it looks if you don't mind the weight
So I bought this thing to use for working doing software dev because i thought it would be funny. My plan is to run ubuntu to do all my work in. It booted not problem and works great no driver issues and no headaches so far. on the windows side i bench marched it and it came in only a few points below a high end gaming desktop, for the price point this thing is insane.

Virtual Reality Dream Laptop
This is my second Eluktronics laptop. I needed a laptop that could provide power without breaking the bank and this did not disappoint! This laptop is powerful beyond belief! I have run various VR test from both Oculus and HTC and this machine rates at the highest levels. As far as gaming goes it eats games for breakfast!

Beast of a gaming laptop with a mechanical keyboard for a great price.
First things first: DO NOT BUY THIS FROM AMAZON! You can get it much cheaper buying directly from Eluktronics' website. They have frequent sales and special offers as well. With that out of the way, I'll make this simple and break it down.PROS:* Awesome performance. You get a full GTX 1070 (not the stripped down Max-Q version) and an i7-7700HQ processor. This will eat anything at 1080p for lunch. You can also plug it into a monitor if you want. Don't expect 60 fps at 4K, but anything below that will be no problem.* Great keyboard. The customizable RGB mechanical keyboard clicks most satisfyingly. Considering this is the big gimmick of this laptop, you would expect it to feel nice, and it does.* Plenty of ports.* Good screen.* Awesome deal for the money. Again, buy directly from Eluktronics, not Amazon. It'll save you several hundred dollars at least. You can also get the BYO version and buy your own components if you know what you're doing.* Great customer service. When my laptop had a minor issue with the RAM slot, they took it back and fixed it for free, no questions asked, even though the warranty had technically expired a couple of weeks ago. They were well within their rights to make me pay for it, but they didn't. That alone wins a lot of points from me.CONS:* Weight. Personally, I actually like the heft to it, but a Macbook this aint. This sucker's heavy.* Large bezels. This isn't too big a deal, but in the age of the iPhone X, it seems nearly everything needs to have slim bezels these days.* Battery Life. Unplugged, this will last maybe 2-3 hours. Still, this is a beast of a gaming machine, not a Chromebook. You knew what you were signing up for.* Speakers are a bit on the quiet side. You might want to invest in a good headset. Speaking of which, it still has the headphone jack that it seems to be fashionable to get rid of these days.* The plastic vent covers on the back have a tendency to break off. A little superglue and they snap right back on, but it's still a bit annoying.* Probably the biggest design flaw I've seen so far is the inconsistent backlighting on the keyboard. Specifically, I'm referring to the top row of number keys and the function keys. Only part of the key gets backlit, so the secondary key function is difficult to make out. On the function keys, you can only see the "F*" part, meaning things like the volume controls and brightness controls can be hard to find. The number keys are the biggest offender: The numbers themselves are not lit, only their secondary symbol. The numpad is still lit, so you have that as an option, but it still seems like a bad design choice.* The touchpad is very basic and not that comfortable to use, but then again, seriously, who plays games with a touchpad? Get a mouse, you scrub.* Minor gripe, but the polished metal frame really shows fingerprints. All in all, the Mech-15 does have its flaws, but a high performance gaming laptop with an inbuilt mechanical keyboard for this price is hard to pass up. Once again, buy directly from Eluktronics, not Amazon. You'll get a better deal that way, unless you just can't wait on the shipping.

Great laptop - Solid customer service
I had never heard of Eluktronics before purchasing this laptop and to be clear up front, I had nothing but trouble from the first day I bought it. Why the 5 star review? Customer service and as it turns out, superb gaming performance. My issues were related to dropped wireless packets. The side effects were stuttering and frame loss while gaming. I play competitively 4 times a year in Path of Exile at league start, so lost frames and stuttering are a huge problem. I work in computer repair, so rather than contacting Eluktronics, I tried 4 different driver versions, adjusted the power settings of my wireless card, re-seated my wireless antenna ports and replaced my wireless card twice.I reluctantly decided that I needed to do an RMA with Eluktronics. I opened a ticket with them and they immediately agreed to an RMA. They did not require me to do anything, but they did request that I go through some trouble shooting steps with them before sending it back. I agreed with honestly a bit of a smirk on my side. After going to such extremes to repair the laptop on my own it was almost laughable to be asked to do "basic troubleshooting" for the support team. We went through all my repair steps and they agreed it was probably a defective laptop. Then they asked if I had tried re-installing Windows. No I hadn't. Why would I? It was a brand new factory install on a brand new laptop. But, compared to what I had done this was very little to ask. I have Windows 10 on a very high end flash drive ready for just such an occasion. I agreed and in less than an hour (seriously, re-installing Windows is stupid fast and easy these days) I had the machine back up and running. My games are installed on a second SSD, so I re-installed Steam and pointed it to the games drive and voila, game ready. I had been having obvious issues for months and months, so testing was easy. To my shock and personal dismay, everything ran perfectly. This is one of those situations where you are both elated and pissed. All my problems were gone, I did not have to wait on an RMA and it was simple and easy to fix. On the other hand I had been dealing with issues and trying extreme fixes for many months when a simple fresh install would have solved my problem! I still have no idea what the issue was. Eluktronics on the other hand was very responsive, informative and polite. I was clearly talking to a real person who had technical expertise. What he had me doing was hardly rocket science, however it was practical and ended up solving my problem. The laptop itself performs as you would expect from the stats. It's on the heavy side for a laptop and I would guess the battery life is not amazing (I only use it plugged in for gaming). The fans are a bit on the noisy side when the laptop is working hard. I dislike the mechanical keyboard for two reasons. The physical clicking is annoying and the glow in the dark features I just hate. The glowing was a super easy fix. There are clearly labeled bios settings to disable the glow before boot up, so that is a non issue. The keyboard works perfectly fine after I adjusted to it, it just turns out I don't personally like mechanical keyboards. Everything else is a positive. The laptop is solidly built and very easy to work on if you want to install more ram or an extra hard drive. The cooling although a little loud keeps the laptop cool even during literally heated gaming. I can run every game I own on super ultra max settings with zero lost frames. The screen is crystal clear with great response time. I haven't measured it but the boot up times are stupidly low, like under 10 seconds. Built in speakers are better than average and you can fill say a normal living room with sound if you wanted to watch a movie or something. For the price, this laptop is very very hard to beat and although the company is new to me, they have held up their end extremely well. If you want to buy this but have doubts, just do it. It's definitely worth it.
