Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 is USM Lens

For the price, I'm very satisfied with this lens as a novice user. I did have focus issues early on but found that this was due to using a filter in conjunction with the lens. Once the filter was removed, the autofocus was noticeably sharper and faster. A different filter may work better, but since I don't have one handy, I have not been able to test that out.The only other caveat I find worth worth mentioning is that when using this lens during low light times, such as dusk, the autofocus will have trouble when using the the full zoom. Again, there may be some things I can do to help this, but as a novice, I've not found what that may be at this time. Either way, I consider this to be okay as I know this isn't a professional lens and therefore is going to have limitations.

I love this lens I use it on a daily bases. It's great for when I'm taking pictures of little league baseball. The quality is great. It does make the camera a bit heavier I have a Canon 70d so the body is a little heavier than most canons but it's so worth it.

I purchased this to upgrade on my Canon55-250mm IS lens. It gives a noticeable improvement not only on zoom but also on light gathering. This is satisfactory for shooting night baseball games, which the 250mm f/5.6 wasn't quite up to.This is an actual Canon lens, same as you would get in the retail packaging. No hood is included with the lens.

Lens is fantastic! Works very well and is sharpest at 70 - 200 and even at 300 it is still very sharp. I've taken some excellent photographs with it lately. I would highly recommend this lens to someone looking for a good quality lens from Canon but doesn't want to spend the money for the L version.

The product arrived on schedule and as advertised. The lens definitely exceeds my expectations for performance. Focusing is fast and sharp, even at 300mm zoom. Does a great job of capturing the action at my sons soccer games!

Great lens for getting back into taking quality photos. Pictures that you will be proud to show to your family and friends. Pro's will want something perhaps better, but for me, I am completely satisfied.

Based upon previous comments I chose this lens as a beginner. I used it to take pics of Tobago's beautiful landscapes and Beaches, but was a bit disappointed. I suppose I expected to see great telescopic images especially when zooming in on the different landscapes and various Fort Sites. I don't know if I had too high an expectation of this lens, but, I will continue using it until I can afford a better one.

Excellent lens - works well with my T4i. I used it on a very overcast and rainy late afternoon day here in Washington state to photograph some nature scenes involving birds, landscape, and animals and got some very good images.
