I wanted to keep some of my craft paints and some brushes handy rather than having to dig through the box where all of them are stored. When I saw this I thought it would be perfect for my needs. It is roomy...I think I put six or eight small bottles of craft paint and a few brushes. There was enough room left over for my handheld small sanding block. Also a small container of spackling material and room to spare. This case is plastic but very sturdy; the latch is strong and is made like those on certain tool boxes. When you open it first it goes up then down to latch and vice versa. It is an awesome case and it is small but not that small. Always read the dimensions to see if it fits your needs.

Just the right size for small storage - I use mine to store "diamond dots" & eqpt., taking my stuff to work with others doing projects at our neighborhood community center and it is a place to just store it all in one place neatly.

This box is not as "mini" as I expected, which in most cases, is a pleasant surprise! I bought this for my 3 year old boy to store his miniature figurines and cart them around with ease, and this box does just that.If used for its intended purpose, this box would hold plenty of art supplies - ink, pens, brushes, water colors, acrylic paints, pencils, charcoal, small ruler/straight edge, scissors... pretty much all of your basic art supply needs!Someone gave a weak review because the box would hold their supplies but not their paper... this is silly, because NO BOX I have ever used as a decently skilled intermediate artist of 15+ years has EVER held paper/canvas/whatever. Please understand, this is for your supplies and is not large enough to hold paper unless it is a smaller sketchbook (5x7 or smaller).

I use this as a greeting card organizer. I made my own card dividers out of heavy card stock. Have never found a better way to organize my cards!

I like this smaller model that I use to stash my quilt blocks in various smaller sizes. The latch system works well. I like how well they stack sideways and upwards

I have used the larger version of this box - with the tray - for my general art supplies. I like the larger boxes. I bought this box because it was much smaller. I use it to store and carry all my charcoal drawing supplies (pencils, charcoal sticks, rags, charcoal powder, erasers, and everything else I need). Charcoal is messy and I wanted a box to keep all the dust and mess in it's own place. It has worked out well for me.These boxes are well made and sturdy. I've never had a problem with the two large ones I own and this smaller one is the same quality. I'm sure it will serve me well for a long time.NOTE: This box has no dividers or compartments, it's just one opening. If you're looking for organization this isn't the right box.
