Can you use this to make ice tea? it seems the same as the Takeya ice tea maker but with a different colored top.
The suggested 28 tbsp coffee almost filled up the filter thingy - some grounds were even dry after sitting. What measurement works best?
When do you add infuser? do you put infuser in after 32 ounces or after 3/4 full? thanks. the instructions say to add 32 ounces and to fill 3/4 full.
The suggested coffee amount seems so wasteful (14-16 tbsp) can you get away with using less?

Makes Cold Brew Easy

I have been using my French press to make cold brew but decided to go with a dedicated cold brew method and container. I decided on this product because I have been a big fan of Takeya tumblers for several years. The name has been synonymous with quality and durability. I typically only use glass but the glass version is much more than I wanted to spend but this Tritan plastic version is very affordable and works the same. The recipe and instructions are included and it's extremely simple and was to use. The fine mesh filter is great because I prefer a less coarse grind and this does not allow for the fine grains to pass through, resulting in a very clean pitcher of cold brew. I love the aesthetics and design but it's very tall, making it hard to fit in my refrigerator configuration. I had to adjust the shelf to accommodate the height but other than that, I'm very happy with this product.

Easy to use, no grounds in coffee, and easy to clean!

This makes great coffee and is extremely easy to clean. The product is lightweight even when full and I get about 4 - servings per pitcher. I do wish they made one size larger but I love being able to store my coffee in a to go tumbler so I just grab and go on my way to work! It seems very durable and the coffee doesn’t stain the pitcher. Also, I have not had any grounds in my coffee unless I spilled them! I’ve been using this for at least 2 months and I am very happy I made this purchase!

Highly recommend

Easy to use, clean, and makes a good cold brew. Perfect every time. Great reusable filter. What little silt there is stays at the bottom. Will be buying a second for my cabin.

We LOVE our 1QT and 2Qt Takeya Cold Brew Coffee Makers

They are so easy to use. They're dishwasher safe (top rack, if you have the clearance). They makes VERY GOOD coffee. You can stop spending $5 per cup at SBux.I have the process down to a science, to get the best cup of coffee for ME....your experience may be different. I've added additional steps which include double filtering the brewed coffee to remove the fines. It can take a little time and effort but it is SO worth it.If you aren't likely to want to consume every drop, you can skip that step and just be careful with your pour so that you leave the fines in the carafe. However, I have found that filtering the final product makes for a perfect cup of cold brew coffee, with no grit....every bit as good as what you can buy at a coffee shop. The filtering process IS a little cumbersome but for my money, it's totally worthwhile. The brewer does exactly what it is intended to do and there's really no way to make for fewer fines in the end product. Grinders are the problem when it comes to creating the fines and in the end, a tighter filter would just prevent the brewer from doing what it is supposed to do.After brewing, my filtering process goes like this:1. Remove the filter with the brewed coffee and drain the coffee from the filter. I keep the coffee that drains out and add it to the rest of the coffee for filtering.2. Pour coffee from the carafe, into another container. I use a funnel and a 1.5 liter plastic bottle. Pour carefully to leave as many fines behind as possible.3. Rinse and drain the carafe.4. Pour the coffee from the other container through a paper cone filter, back into the carafe. I use a reusable filter as support for the cone filter. The reusable filter rests nicely in the opening of the carafe top.5. Pour the coffee through the filter, back into the carafe for your first filtering. This step may take a while. Every batch of coffee will be a little different in terms of sediment. It is possible to clog up your paper cone filter but a quick rinse will get you back in service. Some days you will not have to rinse it during the first filtering, other days, you'll rinse it a few times.6. Once the carafe is full, rinse the filter one more time. Put the paper filter back into the replaceable filter and pour the coffee through it again, into the other container, for storage in the fridge.7. Add water as desired.8. Drink and enjoy, without ANY grit.

THIS WOULD BE A TEN STAR REVIEW. . .

THIS WOULD BE A TEN STAR REVIEW if it were possible! ! ! Recently my 10 year old coffee maker went out on me and I had to opt for St**b***'s $5.00 cup of diluted mud while I tried to make up my mind on what type of coffee maker to get. UGGGHHHHH - ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON! Iced coffee & cold brew ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT if done right. Instead of replacing my electric coffee maker, I decided to get myself a Takeya Cold Brewer because I enjoy Cold Brewed Coffee (CBC) a lot more and no matter what you get, Home Brewed is absolutely the two hands down WINNER in comparison to SB. I happened to be in a 'goodwill-like' store a week ago and found a NEW One Quart Takeya for just $5. I brought it home, washed it and immediately put it to use. I had my first mind blowing cup the following morning. Now I'm anxiously anticipating receiving the 2 Quart Takeya in a few days and really look forward to being able to brew enough to last up to a couple of weeks from it - more like a week's amount of coffee. My choice of coffee is dark roasted, full flavored TopShelf Lion's Maine Mushroom Coffee. The Lion's Maine Nootropic in this coffee is a very welcome ingredient that's highly effective.UPDATE: The Pairing of the Takeya Cold Brew Coffee Maker and my coffee of choice is producing the best coffee I have ever had and it's beyond easy to brew a batch with substance (not diluted) that lasts more than a week unrefrigerated - nearly syrupy. I fill a 20 oz. BPA-free bottle 1/3 full with the CBC and put it in my freezer and once it's frozen, I add my unchilled CBC to the bottle and Im good for the day. The flavor from this method is excellent, but more water can be added if you just want more brew to drink. Diluted, this brew still retains full flavor. Tons of caffeine to shift your morning into HIGH GEAR W/ CLARITY OF MIND, BUT WITHOUT ANY CRASH OR JITTERS. I guarantee that one sip will have you hooked for life - it really is this great!NOTE:I know everyone has their own personal favorite, but I've been hooked on the typically electric coffee maker brew of TopShelf Lion's Maine Mushroom Coffee for about a year now and gone through more than 20 bags of this EXCELLENT coffee (since October 1, 2021) and look forward to many more. I've given a few away as gifts and all recipients have loved it. It is everything the seller says it is and it's flavor is definitively Top Shelf, if you use the right amount of grinds with an electric coffee maker. If it's bitter, you're using too much grinds. I use a very little amount of Stevia and it's perfect. IMO, this coffee IS SOOO SMOOTH that there is no need for any type of creamer. The Takeya really does make a great coffee greater!I'm from Hawai'i and have had the finest Kona Coffees available. When I'm in the mood, I create my own blend of Top Shelf & Kona coffee for extra special occasions.NOTE: if your current choice of coffee grinds are fine and you notice sendiment at the bottom of the Takeya Brewer just remember the expensive delicious chocolate covered coffee beans we coffee snobs enjoy - LOL. If the grinds are small enough to get through the fine mesh, stir or shake your drink up and it'll go down without much noticing and if you don't like that toss / waste your current stash and get yourself a bag of coarsly ground beans or just stick with your overpriced diluted beverage from SB's. To each their own.
