I ordered this unit a few months ago for my father. When he opened it the unit wouldn’t work unless he bent the wire that enters the hat in a u-shape. After a few days the whole thing wouldn’t work. After notifying the seller I promptly received replacement product that works great and appears like an improved product. I appreciate the prompt feedback and service from the seller.This is the most powerful red light therapy hat available. It’s certainly more powerful than alternatives I’ve tried.

She had another type of light therapy hat in mind to purchase, but this hat was well within our budget and seems to be producing the same results. She says the hat is comfortable and convenient to wear. It has a timer and a controller so she can wear it while she's doing other things around the house. Hopefully, it will help with her hair growth goals over time.

This product came nicely packaged in a retail box. It's a bit larger than a shoe box. My first impression is a good one. The cap has a hard shell under the fabric cap. There is a wired remote control with a large LED display. The cable is very short, so the remote is dangling from the cap. If you are sitting down, it's not a big deal. You would not want to use this while standing or working.POWER:You have the option of plugging this into the wall outlet, or a USB-A plug. The box includes a wall wart, and a USB cable. I prefer to use the USB cable, because I wear the cap after I take a shower, and I'm usually sitting in front of the computer. The wall wart would be great for use in front of the TV.FIT:As I mentioned before, the cap is fabric over a rigid plastic cap. There is a strap on the back for adjustment, so you could use this while doing light activities. You could probably plug this into a power bank and walk around with it.BUILD QUALITY:I really like the build quality. The fabric and materials feel like a high quality baseball cap. It feels fairly heavy and durable. The materials are very good quality, and the interior is made of a soft padded material that conforms to your scalp. You cannot wash the cap, but you can use a damp cloth to wipe it down. I recommend wearing it after you take a shower to keep it clean. The wall wart is a 12V 2.5A power supply and it feels fairly heavy.REMOTE CONTROL:The remote is very simple to use, and you can set the timer in 5 minute increments. I'm glad this has a remote with the option to control the timer, brightness and IR frequency (630, 850/940 combined, or all frequencies on) They don't give you much detail on how to use it, so you'll have to do some research online to determine what power, IR frequency, and how long to use it.LED:The specs claim that each LED diode has 3 chips producing 630nm, 850nm, and 940nm. They do not call them lasers, but the companies that do, also call them diodes. I'm not an expert, but the LEDs are definitely different from the ones on my security cameras and night vision gear. These are clear with a tiny printed circuit inside. I believe this is legit. Also, the LED density is very good. They are spaced about a half inch apart.VERDICT:I really like the build quality, and remote control. I especially like the option to choose your power source. As for effectiveness, I can't rate it, because the manual says it takes 6 months of use to get results. Anyway, I'll keep an open mind. As for quality and value, I've seen very expensive models that have the same features. I've also seen cheaper models with fewer LEDs, and I have no idea if they are using diodes or regular LEDs. Overall, this is a nice product at a good price.
