This thing is the bomb. Great for starting charcoal fires and even better for searing meat. Be aware it is very powerful, you feel like a super hero (or villain) when you use it. It feels durable and substantial, lighting can be a bit tricky, just angle the nozzle down and turn on the gas a decent amount and it roars to life. All my buddies now want one.

Should have bought one of these long ago. Great to get the grill fired up quickly, saving a lot of time especially with charcoal. Can adjust the torch to a calm flame or turn it up for turbo high heat output. It is a very quality build and easy to store and assemble on a propane tank. connection doesn't leak. I also started taking this camping and is great for starting a fire even in wet windy conditions.

It's a pretty good torch for the price. It does work well for starting up charcoal briquets or other fire for sure. It has a strong intense fame that projects out about 8"-10" and therein lies the problem with trying to use it to char foods. Sure it works great if you're using over a grill, but I can use my grill to char my food. But when trying to use it on a solid surface, But to avoid overheating the surface you hold it so the flame is nearly parallel with that surface... say about 15-20 degrees. Otherwise you will really heat that surface up too. For instance, it can easily melt tin foil. It's surprisingly effective at heating for the price. But if you want something more precisely controllable with less splash... you'll have to get one of those smaller torches or pony up for the one the pros use.

The media could not be loaded. This torch delivers on everything it promises. The packaging it came in was simple and protective which I appreciated. Turning it on and off is simple and pretty foolproof. It took a few tries to light it properly (you have to barely turn the gas on to get it to work) but once I figured that out, it lit quickly and easily every time. The grip/handle is comfortable and the nozzle is wide to cover a good area of a steak or veggies in a single pass. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and I can't wait to try it on all kinds of foods. If you had a charcoal grill, I would totally get it just to start the coals. Forget lighter fluid or chimney starters, once you've tried this, there's no going back!The Good Stuff:- Light weight- Easy to use / control- INTENSE directed flames right where you want them- SUPER fun to use! :-)

Love this!!!It's an amazing fire starter and flame thrower!!Had used it at home with my fire pit and grill but this last month went winter camping with friends and this was the bomb!! (no it didn't explode)Made starting a fire in light rain and snow a breeze, plus it was fun!! (yes, grown ups can have fun with camp fires too..)The size is perfect for storing it in the toolbox (minus the propane canister, of course) and it's lightweight, so your wrist doesn't get tired.No leakage, well built. Decent quality.Definitely recommend!!

I have used this product for approximately 2 months to successfully ignite my fireplace. The torch is easy to use and ver powerful. However, after accidentally dropping it from a 14-inch height, it fractured into two pieces. Customer service was beyond responsive and helpful. They resolved the issue with in 24 hours. Very happy and will order another.

This torch is outstanding when it lights. You can light lump charcoal and be cooking very quickly. I have tried different fire starters and this beats them all, hands down. However, there are times when the igniter does not ignite the propane and then you are left with using a lighter to light the torch...so counter-productive and extremely frustrating. I would give it 5 stars if the igniter worked properly all of the time. I have learned that holding the torch in an upward angle when igniting provides the most effective result but this still should not be something you have to deal with.
