Can you use these instead of flossing? I hate flossing.

They don't clean the point at which 2 teeth come together (a common site of tooth decay) and they don't slide under the gum tissues. So, no! They do remove some dental plaque but only to a very limited degree. The most important plaque to remove is under the gum line for which floss is required. But they are great for getting gross food particles out from between the teeth which is a common problem for people with gingival recession, especially older patients. They should only be used once and thrown away. If you don't have recession or spaces between the teeth, you probably don't need them A water irrigation device (Water Pik, etc.) can be of some help for non-flossers but the gold standard is still dental floss. Not much difference in price. If you buy 3 of the 100 pack. it cost 17.40 If you buy the (pack of six) the cost 17.99 either way you chose to buy you still going to get 300 total wide space picks..... HTH
