This item is made out of "thick plastic" - I think it is polycarbonate as it is quite flexible - and is not as thick as porcelain, and feels flimsy but looks excellent in use. The set is marketed at large family gatherings, and that is exactly the niche that would suit this. It is not intended for regular commercial use, but I expect that it could be re-used many times before failing. Although lightweight and flexible, it does seem to be quite resilient.To test it before using it an upcoming anniversary, we took it to a small charity that provides sheltered employment and occupational activity, and runs a small "staff canteen". The set is comparable in appearance except that it has no food covers (that would also prevent it being used commercially) and the items completely fill the service table (about the size of a wallpaper pasting table) holding a considerable number of items. You could easily serve a gathering of 100 people with this.It is an excellent product for the purposes suggested, and for the price, I do not think that the lack of rigidity is something to mark it down. However, it would be better with covers, so I am marking it as 4 stars. I will come back to this review with pictures of it in use at the charity, or at the anniversary, if I get the chance.

Really good quality for the price! Surprisingly sturdy. Definitely plastic and on a few occasions had to use provided screws to widen the holes for fastenjng but very happy considering the pricepoint.

A simple way to create a tidy and organised dessert display for parties. The stands were lightweight but stable, holding everything from cupcakes to small pastries without issue. Assembly was straightforward, with everything fitting together snugly. The different tiers made it easy to arrange various treats, and the trays were useful for other snacks. Cleaning was quick with a damp cloth, and everything packed away neatly for storage. Used them for a small gathering, and they added a nice touch to the table without taking up too much space. Reusable and sturdy enough for multiple events.

I got this set of cake stands for a party I was hosting. They look quite nice. They're sturdy enough for cupcakes and snacks. They were easy to assemble. They add a bit of elegance to the table. They're good for parties.

I am really pleased with this set of cake stands - They were exactly what I was looking for to use at a recent tea party to celebrate my colleagues! The set offered very good value, offering three round cake stands, three square ones and three rectangle trays. The stands and trays are all white with scalloped edges and little cut out heart detailing which is really pretty! I was able to set cakes out on the tiered stands and then also offer trays of sandwiches for a "high tea" experience! The round cake stands offer three tiers, with the base plate measuring 9.6", the middle 7.6" and the top 5.8" - These have ornate handles for carrying. The square stands offer two tiers measuring13" and 10.3", while the rectangle trays measure 19cm by 29 cm with a scalloped edging making the overall size 37 cm by 24cm. The stands were really easy to put together and there were spare parts supplied incase of loss. The set also offered a white tablecloth with gold patterning round the edge. This is a great set for parties and celebrations and can be used time and again!
