and several weeks ago he graciously suggested it might be a good idea for me to buy my own
I'd been using my son's supply of Tumeric Curcumin for the past several months, and several weeks ago he graciously suggested it might be a good idea for me to buy my own. : ' ) He was right, so I started exploring the different sources. Long story short: I chose Sports Research and Amazon and couldn't be happier.Amazon for availability and price and 2-day delivery using Prime.Sports Research for the quality of product.Sports Research uses the registered Sabinsas Corporation version of Curcurmin C3 and Bioperine (Black Pepper Extract). The Bioperine level is 2.5 mg which, from what I gather, is changed from an earlier 5 mg level. I believe that the 2.5 mg level is very effective and appears to me, from my personal experience, to not affect the quality of the product. Perhaps SR made this reduction in order to be able to offer this at an affordable price. I don't know this to be a fact, but I can say that this works !).Also, I noticed in reading other user comments that earlier versions used coconut oil. When I received my bottle, I immediately went to the contents on the bottle and read the following:"Kosher Gelatin, Purified Water, GMO Free High Oleic Safflower Oil, Organic Yellow Beeswax"Now, to be pefectly open, I had to look up "High Oleic" to see if we're talking a "good thing" or a "bad thing". The results:"High oleic oil is high in unsaturated fat, low in saturated fat, and has no trans fat. The large amount of monounsaturated fat in high oleic oil has been shown to lower LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) without lowering HDL cholesterol (the good kind). When LDL cholesterol goes down, so do the risks of heart disease, heart attacks, and stroke."Whew, so we're talking a good thing.I'm not exactly sure how the organic beeswax is used. Perhaps as a binder or filler or .... ? I don't know. I get the feeling that it takes the place of what is found in a number of other turmeric offerings: magnesium stearate, silica, silicon dioxide and titanium oxide. If that's the case, more power to Sports Research. One final little nicety is that their Turmeric Curcurmin is manufactured in the good ol' USA.Would I recommend this to a friend ? Yes.Am I having to "pay back" my son with my supply of SR Turmeric Curcurmin ? Yes. At least for a while. In a couple of weeks, though, I'll have to graciously suggest to him that he get his own supply in a couple of weeks. : ' )Good luck with whatever choice you make, I'm of the opinion you'd be very happy with SR's offering.

My first choice among Turmeric supplements
I have been taking this supplement for a duration of four weeks. The last several days is when I was able to safely say that the Turmeric is making a difference. I've been on aniti-depressant meds for about 7 years now. The Turmeric may not be able to replace the medication that I'm currently taking, but at this point I can safely say that it is a wonderful addition to the things that I'm already doing to manage my depression and anxiety. I also have been doing yoga religiously for four years now. I exercise and am very conscious of what I eat. I will continue to use the Turmeric due to the noticeable life it has given me and consider it an integral part of my current management tool set. I'm also thrilled that this supplement has not had any accompanying side-effects. I have taken it with and without food and have not had any nausea or digestive discomfort.I chose the Sports Research brand of supplement for several reasons. It makes a point of noting on the label that it is free of Gluten, GMO's, soy and stearates. Gluten is a huge concern. My mother has violent reactions to gluten and it commonly used in many supplements and medications. Gluten hides in many medications, even pharmacists have little idea as to which products many contain it. The ingredients are right on the label and there are only a few. In my opinion, the fewer the better, as there is less chance of the supplement containing something that may not agree with my body. Minimal fillers and the ones that are used are natural such as safflower oil. Many of the other supplements did not have a similar composition, or did not clearly state the ingredients. The only thing that I would like to see is some more information on the company website regarding their manufacturing process and quality control. That's a minor gripe and probably outside the scope of this review as this review pertains to the product and not the company website. The bottle is clearly labeled and includes all the information that I would hope to find regarding the contents. At this point in time this will be my ongoing choice of Turmeric supplement and the brand that I will recommend to my family and friends. Especially since my family all share a sensitivity to gluten and a concern over the quality and purity of the things that we put into our bodies.
