refurbished device.Frustration free packaging amounted to an anti-stat bag and some paper packing, so I should have known there would be a catch.Powering up the drive and running HD Sentinel showed the unit to have just 760 days of life left, the 3600days having already been used.Which is less than the drive it was supposed to replace. so is not suitable for use on a system where the drives do not spool down between uses.Be wary of 3.5" drives they are not the long life storage option one might hope.I bought WD because they are amongst the best rated purchase and they may be, BUT this purchase bought me something at end the end of its service life.Tread carefully as what is advertised does not indicate the unit to be what you actually want i.e. one with a decent service life left.
