Handy small parts magnetic retriever.
The good is this unit is small and can get into some tight spots. The flexible shaft will retain its shape to work around obstacles and is fairly long. The bad is the magnet is fairly small so not terribly powerful. It will pick us a small bolt or nut if you are careful, but will not pick up a wrench. This is handy, but a more powerful magnet would bu even better.

Great addition to my tool box!
The other day I was working under the car and got a socket stuck in a place that I couldn't reach with my fingers. So I saw and ordered this tool. Used it as soon as I got it to retrieve the socket. Easy!! I am glad I got this tool to have on hand when working under the car hood too. I've had times when I dropped a tool into a place where it took a lot of thin rods to get to it. Don't expect that to be the case next time.

Lifesaver
While replacing the door handles of our car I dropped a bolt inside the door cavity and thought it'd be lost forever. Bought this tool and blindly fished through the 1½ inch hole for the door handle, actually managing to reel the bolt in within minutes. Worth every penny for this alone and I'm sure it'll come in clutch again in the future.

Long length magnetic pickup tool, versatile, magnet is so-so. Great for when you drop a fastener deep inside the cowling on the front of a vehicle. I have used these a few times now, I have had to come back and edit my initial review.The magnet is a bit on the weak side, it even drops small nuts, especially if you bump against a panel or something while retrieving it. However, I do like the flex shaft and handle, so what I have decided to do is alter the tool.I ordered a set of strong magnets that are of a similar size, and I plan to cut off the existing magnets and affix the replacements using JB weld or a similar bond.

Life Saver
A life saver!!! I dropped a wrong size socket to remove my sprak plug, as I was replacing them. This magnet was the prefect size to fit between the wall of cylinder and the tip of the spark plug right onto the socket. It literally took less then a minute to grab it!
