Is this wood treated with chemicals or is it stabilized? And if stabilized, is it done under vacuum, and what kind of epoxy is used?

Neither. This wood is so dense and oily, I doubt vacuum stabilizing with resin will have an impact. I noted no chemical treatment. I use considerable desert ironwood. I bought it here because it was advertised as burl. Mine was definitely not.
