This was our first escape room in a box and was great fun. Took 3 adults 1.5 hours to escape.Really well set out, easy to follow instructions and fun puzzles - some easier than others.Will definitely be ordering one of the children's ones as our 6 year old was desperate to join in! Oh, and another version for ourselves obviously- think I'm hooked.Well worth the pennies especially if time and money stop you going to a proper escape room

Bought a couple to try out with my partner as we both really enjoyed escape games. Sure, it doesn't have the thrill of being locked in and interacting with the elements in a room but it sure has some really good puzzles to solve. No difficulty following the instructions. Took us exactly 2 hours to finish this and I love how literally everything in the box is used for the game. Can't wait to try the other 3 that I have bought. :)

By far the easiest we've played so far. Not much fun for people who are used to play these kinds of escape games, it's basically just easy riddles, and sometimes, overexplained as well. Good fun for beginners maybe. Still a great idea of a game.

We'd tried a level 3 exit game before and find it quite a challenge so went for a 2 this time. It was perfect! Took 3 adults 3 and a half fun hours. There were clues if you needed them but usually we didn't and various "strange items" which you often needed to use to solve each riddle. Once you solved each riddle, you moved on to the next step to escape from the enchanted forest. Highly recommended if it's your first go at an escape game.

We played this with 2 adults, an 11 and 8 year olds. It definitely took longer than the recommended 2 hours play time and we ended up playing over 2 evenings - the younger children got distracted on the longer challenges but they are below the recommended age.The game encouraged lots of discussion and theories. It’s only a novice level so I dread to think how difficult the higher challenges are! But it was so much fun! I love the eco friendliness of the packaging and how everything you need is contained in the box, which can all be recycled at the end. Great concept and can’t wait to play another one.

We actually bought this as a birthday present but, we have played it before. It is NOT an easy game and is certainly not for a beginner. That said it did keep us entertained for a few days. There is a lot of lateral thinking needed and that is as much as I will say about the game play.We actually did cheat somewhat regarding the single use element of the game as there are pieces of the game which need to be cut up so we actually photocopied them using the copies instead of the original game cards to be cut and it worked, so we can now hand this game over to others to play at no extra cost to them.

So much cheaper than an escape room but shame you can only use once. Some of the clues are really tricky but we escaped after 2 hours (three teens and an 11 year old). Would work better for two than four players as hard for everyone to join in at once

We played as a family of four with our sons aged 8 and 12. If you read through the instructions carefully beforehand the game is easy to set up and is clearly explained. We've never done a real life escape room experience before and this is the first home escape room of this range we've tried. We darkened the room, lit candles and lava lamps and used the atmospheric soundtrack that comes with the free app for a more 'haunted experience'. The app also has a timer for the game and will 'score' your game at the end giving you a star rating based on the time spent and the number of help cards used. The game itself is not at all scary so fine for younger players, but the soundtrack can get a bit eerie for younger children. The game has around ten challenges and it took us 1hr 58m to complete. Some puzzles are more tricky than others but eventually the penny dropped with each. There are Help Card cards to give you hints but we did not have to use these. This is a marked as a 'beginner level' which I think is about right and for ages 10 and up which I also think is OK. Our 8 year old perhaps did not 'solve' any of the riddles but it was at a level where he could contribute ideas and had plenty to do that meant he was still actively included. Best played around a table so all can see and be involved. Can only really be played once but for the money, two hours of quality entertainment for a family of four seems good value to me. We have the Mysterious Museum to play next.

I saw these EXIT games in the lobby of an escape room we visited. So I was curious on how a little box could actually hold a whole escape room experience.My review is not for this edition per say, since we have not done it yet. But it's the 4th EXIT game I buy.They are really fun. Well made. Surprising.We were quite skeptical at first, but are now sold on them.Perfect when you don't want to dish out the 100$ (cos of course us parents pay for the whole family!).At a fraction of the price, you get a whole evening of fun. So for a family of 4, it takes us a good 2 to 3 hours to get through one. The first one was a little longer since we had to comprehend the whole process... but the concept is relatively the same in each one. But, there are always new twists and surprises in each one so it never gets boring.I would highly recommend to anyone who likes escape rooms or even for someone who wants to try it before going to an escape room... get you brain trained to think outside the box.

This is our second Exit brand escape room and we enjoyed it very much. It was a difficulty 2, which for our group was just hard enough to be fun. We had to tap into a few clues to keep the game going, which means the challenge of it was right on. Some of the puzzles were very easy for us because we kinda knew what to look for when it came to Exit puzzles, but others were still surprising.If you like puzzles, cyphers, and games requiring keen eyes for complex clues, this is a great starter game. I’m definitely curious what the next level of difficulty will be like!FYI, these are one-time use games. You will, in the process of playing, have to destroy some of the game materials. So be aware that they’re selling a one-time experience.We have a great time and look forward to another Exit escape room game in the future.

My 9 year old son was a bit disappointed we weren't unlocking 'real' locks and doors but his 11 year old sister, and mom and I had a great time. It was pretty challenging too!

This was great for a family game night. Our family of four (2 teenage girls) solved it in about 90 minutes. The puzzles were challenging but not impossible.The clues are helpful if you get stuck. My only complaint - the first clue is always really obvious.Overall, highly recommend! The cost is significantly less than escape rooms while the puzzles are just as challenging and you get to do it in the comfort of your home.
