GREAT for long days on your feet!! Very cute, too!
This is my first try at wearing compression socks and they work great!I got a new job which has put me on my feet, pounding around on concrete for my whole day. I wear Danskos or Abeos on my wide + high-arched feet and I soak in epsom salts at night and/or use ice packs to mitigate some of the pain from swelling, but it hasn't been enough. Nor have OTC anti-inflammatories or homeopathic remedies. I decided to look at compression socks and found the Sockwells. They looked cute, too, so I decided to give them a try. After two days of wearing the Sockwells to work my pain has been noticeably reduced. In fact, yesterday I sustained an injury to my foot that left a huge bruise across my top toe area which apparently inflamed my plantar fascia. I didn't notice until I got home and took off my socks, at which point my foot began to swell, show the bruising and exhibit sharp pain in the forward area of my plantar fascia by my littlest toes. The injury is not the sock's fault! But they sure helped reduce the pain so that I didn't notice my damaged foot until after work. Also, I am sitting here writing this, calling in a couple days from work while my foot swelling subsides, wearing my socks and icing/soaking my foot on doctor's orders. I am really glad I got five pair. These are expensive socks but they are very helpful for swelling and very cute to boot! The black are nice and classic - good for work. The teal and concorde are really pretty. The damask pattern is also quite lovely. Really impressed with the look, fit and what seems to be a well-made and durable-feeling sock.In terms of fit: I am 5'6", about 150lbs and I wear a wide 7.5 US Women's shoe. The S/M fits snug and well with no discomfort and a wonderful reduction in swelling for my feet-- and even it seems of my knees, which also often ache at the end of the day. Please note that while there are a few images (the black and the concorde colors, for example) that show these socks as above the knee, they are not. I got black, concorde and teal socks and they all fit very decidedly BELOW MY KNEE, and I have short legs! :-) Please see attached image (and kindly ignore my icky bruised knee!).That said, I love these socks and recommend you give them a try if you have long days on your feet which cause painful swelling. Best of luck! :-)UPDATE: 02/01/2016I've been using the socks for months now and thought I would update to discuss longer term experiences. Basically, I love them. I don't wear them daily, but whenever I do my feet and legs thank me, so I make sure to use them on long days on my feet or while traveling, as they help when sitting a lot, too. This was great on a long road trip! Anything to reduce fatigue is a benefit then. :-)Also, the socks have worn fantastically. They look near to new despite regular use and wash/drying same as I've described previously. Washable wool products are simply wonderful, and these socks are really sturdy, beautiful, functional and user-friendly.Finally, I loved these so much I got my boyfriend a couple pairs (of the men's version) to see if they would help when he would go walking all day to get urban photo shots about town. He is a somewhat typical guy, dubious of the suggestion to try compression socks and flabbergasted at the cost even at Amazon prices. See? Typical Hanes 10 pack of white crew socks kinda guy's guy!It took him weeks to try them but the day he did he almost gushed about how great it was because he could really feel the difference in his feet with far less aching and swelling that was undeniably noticeable. He is careful with them - he is harder on clothes and socks than I am and he knows these are pricey - and he wants to keep them nice because he knows they WORK!!Again, hope this is helpful and that these socks work for you! Best of luck!

After trying a few other brands, for me, you can't beat Stockwell!
I had some minor discomfort in my legs due to a few veins so since Varicose Vein problems run in my family, my doctor suggested I try a Compresson sock. I tried a few styles and found they were not well made and then I found Sockwells on Amazon. They fit the bill perfectly for me. They are high quality and give graduated support with comfort. At first I hand-washed them but now I put them in a Lingerie Bag and machine wash them on Delicate and hang them to dry. They come out fine and have provided me with the relief I had anticipated. I highly recommend them!

Soft, comfortable, and attractive! But I may have ordered the wrong size.
I have a long flight planned for November to Europe. Our longest flight will be from ORD to CDG (8 hours) My most recent flight was from JFK to PHX (6 hours) I didn't have a problem with swelling, but don't want to take any chances. I don't want to be stuck wearing athletic shoes (or my flip flops in 50 degree weather because my feet are too swollen to wear my boots or shoes!!! Also, our return flight from CDG to DFW will be 11 hours. These are my first compression socks, and I have to say I really like them! I'm a size 8 shoe, but ordered the ML because I assumed my calves would be too wide for the SM. I think I was wrong. They fit nicely, but I don't feel much compression. I could have returned them, but they are so soft and comfortable, I'm keeping them to wear with my boots. I'm also thinking that a little compression will be good for those days that we are on our feet constantly and walking miles each day. Because, Paris. I'm 5'4", and they come up to my knee. I fold the end of the sock over the top of my boots, and they keep the top of my boots from rubbing uncomfortably against the back of my knee when seated. Since they don't seem to offer much compression, I'm ordering them agian in the SM size. If they are too tight, I'll give them to my youngest daughter who wears a size 6 shoe. I'll update this review when I get the second, smaller pair.

Wore well and has a super cute pattern!
I have traveled internationally before and have been on long plane rides many times but have never worn a compression sock before. I decided to try these out based on some recent recommendations. I don't know if I felt anything different after wearing these, I have never noticed swollen feet before but whatever the case seeing as nothing negative came from wearing these I'm going to say they worked good. I like that you get different patterns to chose from, makes them look more youthful (even though I wore yoga pants and no one saw them). They were tight but I didn't feel like they were cutting off any blood circulation which was good. The only thing I didn't like (and this a personal thing) is that they went above my knees and settled on my lower thigh area which at times felt uncomfortable. I am only 5'1" though so I don't have the longest of legs, so again this is a personal thing and has nothing to do with the manufacture.I am going overseas again in May and will most likely wear these again!

Great for anyone who is on their feet all day
I’m a nurse who is walking on concrete floors 13 hours a day. These keep my legs from hurting. I have worn these for 10-15 years and just now having to replace them so they are very durable. They are expensive for a pair of socks but they are the best compression socks I have ever had and I’ve tried them all so they are worth it to me because they hold up so well for years. They reduce swelling and fatigue when you are on your feet all day. I even wear them if I’m going to be shopping all day or if I’m going to be walking a lot like on vacation

room for your toes
nice quality , quite warm. Ok, they squeeze toes a little across the metatarsals , but my toes themselves have plenty of room . . I have 4 pairs , these ones in the pic I have had at least 4 years and they showing no sign of wearing out . my black ones look nice too, mat finish , sorry they are in the wash so no pic . . - you should not get them if you have poor circulation , numbness, diabetes. Get advice from your nurse or doctor ;-)

Cheaper on amazon than retail
Provides good uniform compression but after 1 yr use they slide easily down the leg creating zone of higher pressure like around the ankles. Feels like i have a small tourniquet until i pull the socks up. Have to do this 3-4 times per day

Socks are great!
I really like these socks. They are not too thick; thus, not too hot. The fit is great. The top elastic strip is not binding and does not hurt as I have problems with pressure points. Would definitely get these again. My only issue is not with the socks, it is with the fact that Amazon took so long to ship them. I got 2 day shipping, but it took Amazon about three weeks before they finally shipped the product - very disappointing.
