Better than a HID kit and far better light.
FAR BETTER THAN EXPECTED!! I've heard that LED headlight bulbs can be problematic or give poor throw of light but no such problems with these. They are far brighter than the HID lights they replace (6000k 50w HID kit). The added bonus is they illuminate instantly so when flashing lights to let someone pull out at a junction is no problem as there is no doubt when these lights are on. The colour temperature of the lights is also much better than the HID bulbs, more closely to 5000k so a much brighter white with less blue tinge to it. Very easy to fit and had no issues fitting these to a Jaguar X-Type which is normally a PITA to change bulbs on due to limited room.

Require modifications
Got these for my Ford Focus mk2.5. They required adapters that were not included. I had to source and modify other ones. Other than this I would recommend these LEDs.
