Craftsman 262-Piece Mechanic Tool Set, Master Socket Set with 3-Drawer VERSASTACK Tool Box, SAE/Metric Set (CMMT45309)

This was a fantastic tool set, so many tools for the price. Great quality Craftsman tools, I wasn't sure they still made them as good as the old days but these are very high quality tools. The tool box is a clever design, too; it keeps everything organized and easy to find.

I have the earlier version of this box also. This version is quite a bit larger but it has its advantages. When you pull the drawers out you actually have to release some tabs on the end to get the drawer completely out. The added space allows you to easily reach in and pull out each individual tool or socket. I also like the slimmer ratchet handles. Very nice set I actually have a set that I travel with I have a set that is in my garage and I have a set that stays in my basement work area. My travel Craftsman set is a slim flat toolbox that does not take up much room. It's not bulky like these two are.

This Craftsman 262-piece mechanic tool set is absolutely fantastic! The variety of sockets, wrenches, and ratchets covers everything I need for both automotive and household projects. The tools feel solid and well-made, with the durability I expect from Craftsman.The 3-drawer tool box is a huge plus. It keeps everything neatly organized, making it easy to find the right tool quickly. The drawers slide smoothly, and lock closed, the box itself is sturdy and stackable, which is great for storage.Overall, this is an excellent set for DIYers. If you’re looking for a high-quality, comprehensive tool kit, this one is definitely worth it!

With an upcoming hub/bearing assembly swap on 3 of the 4 wheels and new brakes on all four, I needed a new ratchet as my 28-year-old Craftsman 3/8" ratchet suffered a couple of rounded off teeth after years of use and abuse. Shopping around just for a ratchet, and wanting to also buy a 1/2" ratchet, the prices pushed me to start looking at larger/bundled kits. While I didn't really need all of the sockets and wrenches included in this kit, I couldn't beat the price, especially with the price reduction on this kit, which by the way is still full price at Lowes. I couldn't be happier with this kit, and it should well-serve any weekend warrior mechanic for years to come, as long as you don't abuse the tools. I added some adapters to the kit to allow use of the 1/2" drive with some of the 3/8" sockets, as the length of the 1/2" drive provides a little more leverage, finding that sweet spot when the 3/8" drive isn't enough and my 18" breaker bar is too much/doesn't fit in the tight spot. The plastic case, with the removeable trays/drawers keeps everything neat and tidy, easily identifying when something is missing. With my aging eyes, it was tough to see the raised numbering to identify the socket size, but this is easily addressed by coloring the raised numbering with a black Sharpie to make them contrast against the rest of the red tray. It was nice how the trays can be removed and stacked on top of the case for easy access. As mentioned above, I added adapters, but I also added a 6" 3/8" drive extension as the included extensions were too short to access the mounting bolts for the brake calipers and hub/bearing assemblies on my vehicle. The layout of the trays/drawers leaves plenty of space for these additions and probably a bit more. This kit paired with the Craftsman 1/2" impact driver, and the added adapters and extension, I was able to tackle the job easily and save myself a ton of money instead of paying the dealership or some other garage to do this. The only thing needed for the job that wasn't in this kit was a 32mm socket to remove the axel nuts, thankfully I was able to borrow one from a friend. Overall, this is a great kit and I highly recommend it, especially if it is $90 below regular price.

Very nice tools. The case is cheap junk. I expected better from Craftsman.

These tools are of high quality which is what you would expect from a brand like craftsman. It is a great starter set for someone wanting to get into auto mechanic career. Or for those already in the field or for DIY at home.

Good, simple, organized. That about sums this up. Not extensive and over the top, but great for general professional and home projects.

My current tool collection is much more advanced than this but we all start somewhere. I wish I started with a set that had all this included for such an amazing price! I bought this set as a gift for my son who runs his own mobile detailing business. He would often borrow my tools and I thought this would be the perfect start to building his own tool collection.This Craftsman 230 piece set has all of the basic tools you would need to tackle most any DIY job, perfect for my son to do his own vehicle and power equipment maintenance. Ratchets and sockets are fundamental to any set and this set includes 1/4" drive, perfect for working on small jobs like portable power equipment, up to 1/2" drive for all of those heavy duty jobs. The 3/8" drive tools handle everything in between. The low profile ratchet heads are very handy when working in tight spaces.There is also a nice selection of wrenches, bit sockets, hex keys and extensions. All of the basics in one set! The addition of a compact and lightweight carry case helps keep everything organized and portable. This makes it super easy keep in your truck.Don't hesitate to grab this set, especially when it's on sale. I did a quick search before placing my order and could not find it anywhere else for such a good price.
