Great buy.
I've used this brand for a few years now. No complaints. Little pricey but it's quality. No harsh chemicals. Smells ok. My dog shines and no reactions. I don't have hardly any problems with ticks or fleas. My dog is a house dog though. I'm satisfied.

Really kills the fleas!
Definitely works! Lately none of the regular stuff (Frontline, etc.) has been doing much of anything and I felt like I was just adding poisonous chemicals to my border collie for nothing. I'd used straight Diatom. Earth but that's a powdery mess and you have to be very careful not to let them breathe it or they get sinus infections. I was bathing him with blue Dawn dish soap which works terrifically, but saw this and decided to try it out. Wet the dog, rub the bar on him (lathers up just fine) and then rinse. The fleas die instantly and he seemed to have relief for a few days afterwards so I think it helps repel a bit too. He's had his second bath with this and I still have almost all of the bar, so it seems to last well too. For us, this bar is a great solution---kills the fleas without the harsh chemicals, its nice on his skin (even the Dawn made his skin a bit dry) and seems to repel for a few days anyway. Do I wish the effects lasted longer? Sure, but I'm realistic and know that's just not how essential oils and D.E. works. I wish they made a maintenance conditioning spritzer with the essential oils that I could use between baths, but I'll try mixing up my own for now. I'm ordering more bars to keep on hand.

DerMagic Flea Shampoo / Diatomaceous Earth Bar Soap
So far I like this dog shampoo. I bought it because it says it's Flea Shampoo, but I notice that it's now called Diatomaceous earth shampoo bar and the instructions for fleas are absent. I have found the instructions for fleas on other sites, but wonder if they are no longer making that claim? The bar I purchased still said "flea bar" on the bag that the bar was in.UPDATE: 7-8-18. I heard back from the company and they said that the shampoo does work to both kill and deter fleas, but it's not approved in the US by the FDA for that purpose so they can not technically refer to it as a flea bar. I can attest to the bar getting rid of fleas. And she has not gotten any more since we are bathing her with this and dusting her lightly with their diatomaceous earth powder.I noticed a couple fleas on my Westie so I wanted to address it hopefully without chemicals. Yesterday I combed her out before bathing and only found 2 fleas after combing with a flea comb. They were active and jumping. I was able to dispose of them and then gave her a bath with the soap. I was careful to watch the water to see if any escaped. I did not see one flea even though I ran the water in our laundry tube up so she was mostly covered.I soaped her up good and then ran the water checking for fleas in the water. Then I rinsed her off. The instructions said not to leave it on like you do for most fleas soaps, so I am not sure if maybe I should have left her to sit with the soap on a little longer. Anyway after her bath she smelled good. I could smell a slight herbal or medicinal smell, but it was pleasant. I thought maybe that is what repels the fleas. I wish the bar of soap talked more about using it for fleas.Anyway the next day I combed her out again and this time I found one live flea which seemed a bit slower than the ones from yesterday so maybe it was in the process of dying.I had purchased some diatomaceous earth powder from the same company and sprinkled some on her as thoroughly has I could and rubbed and brushed it in. I did not want to go overboard. I also sprinkled some around the carpet and where she sleeps. I am guessing that we do not have that many since all I could actually get from her are a total of 3 fleas but I do not want to let it get out of control.Hopefully we will get either no fleas or dead fleas next time I comb her.I am giving this 4 stars because I really liked the soap even if it does not end up taking care of fleas. It is so much easier to use than liquid soap. I just rub it around instead of trying to get liquid evenly distributed. I also have chemical sensitivities and most scents bothered me. This one did not bother me at all! I took off 1 star for the lack of clarity on how to use this as a fleas shampoo. The bar has bits of some herbs or something in it. I will include a photo. It's really interesting soap. Will purchase again or may try some of the other varieties too.I will review the powder in a few days after I see how it works. Thanks for reading my reviewBecky Brooks

Great for big dogs with thick fur that require lots ...
Great for big dogs with thick fur that require lots of shampoo like my German Shepard/Husky mix. He usually goes through a bottle of shampoo with 2 maybe 3 washes.. With this shampoo bar it lasted a really long time probably 6-7 washes could've had more, but I ended up throwing what was left away. After every wash I kept the soap in a zipblock bag. It really does kill fleas and I noticed less itching with my dog when using this. It also lathers really quickly which is great!

Not sure yet, but optimistic
Have used twice in 2 weeks since delivery. He smelled terrific and was silky smooth after the first bath, but I didn't notice much improvement with the biting. I tried keeping the suds on longer today, and found two latent fleas in the suds on my hands. Maybe that's key... give them more time to die. I've always used a liquid shampoo before, but found the bar to be very easy to use, like waxing the body. It suds up well, and rinses off nicely. Will probably order again.

Works well
I'm a big fan of diatomaceous earth to begin with and the soap just takes it up a notch, lots of dead fleas in the water during the bath and after drying my pup I use a flea comb and get even more dead or almost dead fleas out. And she smells so good as well after her bath!

Don't think twice...get this bar soap!
This soap is awesome! We bought a natural liquid shampoo from another company. Her fur just soaked it up, and it didn't lather, which is why I looked into a bar soap. This bar lathered so easily. Soap didn't soak up in her fur (so you can actually move the soap around in the fur). This is a huge plus as it makes bath time quicker and more efficient. If your dog is like mine, bath time is not a fun thing. Smells good and love that it's natural!! Thank you😃
