Astell&KernKANN ULTRA High Resolution Audio Player - Astro Grey

After spending a significant amount of time trying to connect to wifi (2 different routers and a hotspot) and getting 'limited connectivity' trying everything I could think of, I eventually found for some bizarre reason changing the time zone solved the issue (made no sense!) and I could then do a firmware update and revert back to GMT with no further issues...DAR (basically an upscaling feature) is incredible, the sound is noticeably more analogue, it's like having a really high end turntable in a dustproof environment but with extra top end clarity (paired with Denon AH-D9200 headphones and custom cable). Having been a big vinyl fan back in time this is as close as I've found from a digital source. As with all audio kit trying before you buy is highly recommended, but the Kann Ultra is spot on for me

With the skilled assistance of HEA Distribution, I upgraded from an older SA player to the new Kann Ultra. Wow! Amazing sound quality, really fast interface response. Just oozes quality. Well worth the extra cost.Would like to praise HEA and Stephan in particular, who was so helpful and patient in answering my questions and making the purchasing process as easy as possible. Their customer service is at a level I've not experienced for years. Can't recommend them enough.

I previously owned the A&K Kann Alpha and started to have issues running Tidal’s new FLAC format music on the device. After talking with an extremely helpful and knowledgeable person at HEA Distribution (Stephan Orphanides) they explained the likely cause of my issues and recommended the new A&K Kann Ultra which would better cope with the higher demands of the new music format. I decided to upgrade and after receiving my new A&K Kann Ultra and using it for a while now, I can confirm that it’s an absolutely fantastic product. Don’t get me wrong, the Kann Alpha was very good, but the Ultra is next level! Astell & Kern have totally revamped the operating system and it is so much more responsive (not clunky at all now!), there is a much larger and better quality display and to me there is a noticeable improvement in sound quality which I thought wouldn't be possible!! The whole device screams quality and if you are considering an upgrade I would thoroughly recommend the Kann Ultra without hesitation. I have no regrets what so ever with this purchase. Thanks once again toe HEA Distribution and Stephan for some really good advice.

It takes a lot to impress me but my oh my this does NOT disappoint. From the moment you unwrap it it oozes quality & craftmanship, for those of you out there that have a DAC media player you need to upgrade! This is a big step up from anything that’s gone before with even the rimshots of the drum crystal clear and jumping out at you. The sound quality is just wow!!What made the experience even better was talking to HEA Distribution about the Kann Ultra and there wasn’t a thing they didn’t know, every question or comparison I had not only was it answered straight away (unlike some that have to revert to another person) but they answered everything and then went into the reasons why this stands out in a clear concise manner that anyone could understand. It was shipped at 4.15pm on a Friday & arrived before 1pm on the Saturday. Absolutely outstanding service & product!

This is a Fantastic product. Its a delight to unbox, and handle. Wonderfully tactile! I am listening to audio files in FLAC with a pair of Sennheiser headphones. For quality music 'on the go' this is the player to own.When my Kann Ultra arrived I was in such a rush to 'get going' I inserted a sim phone card into it instead of a micro sd card! I sent the machine back to HEA Distribution who removed it free of charge.They are a solid company to deal with.
