My 2nd grader is getting into shorter chapter books this year. I loved these stories when I was young so for bedtime story, I've been reading a chapter from Bunnicula and he's been getting a kick out of it. Last night was the scene with Chester the Cat trying to kill the bunny vampire with a steak from the freezer. I was crying I was laughing so hard. I might be enjoying it a bit more than my kid is...

In 2nd grade our librarian read us Celery Stalks at Midnight and I loved it and got it for my own. Then I realized it wasn't the first in the series and had to get the other two. Later a newer book came out Return to Howliday Inn. They're phenomenal. I got this as a gift for a co worker's 8 year old and the gift set is nice, just the artwork makes it seem a bit dark/scary/evil when they are delightfully funny and entertaining. Hope she gives it a chance!

Love the stories! Book covers are very thin and not very sturdy. The box it came in was munched on almost all the corners. The box is fairly thin too. We’re reading it together as a family and loving it, but I wish they were better quality to last longer.

I bought this for my 4 year old son, so we could read a little each night. I read these books in grade school and LOVED them, so I wanted him to read these as well. I read them to him, since he is just learning how to read, and he adores these. They offer the right amount of mystery, creepiness, and humor. He is excited when I break these books out every night, and "Bunnicula" is becoming a common word in our house. These books are appropriate for any age, but do have some larger words so really young kids might have a hard time reading them. Overall the set is great, of good quality, and easy to love. Who couldn't love a vampire rabbit that drains vegetables??? :)

This is a great little boxed set that any Bunnicula fan will treasure. I read the first three as a kid and had a blast revisiting the series as an adult. This book series is an excellent choice for middle readers (ages 8/9 through 11/12) who love mysteries and stories with animal protagonists. The spooky elements are played for laughs so no big worries there!

I ordered this for my grandsons because they LOVE Bunnicula! We have Bunnicula on CD & they've listened to the stories over & over & wanted the actual books so they could read them themselves. This is a great little set of books, all in a tidy box and all complete. For kids, but also enjoyable for adults, with lots of humor, a little mystery, & no gooey moral lessons included. The six-year-old wants it read over & over, & the 10-year-old has already started writing his OWN version of Bunnicula, told from HIS dog's point of view. This would be an excellent Christmas gift for a young reader!

My 7 year old daughters, summer reading back when I was a boy I read as far as the third book. This summer me and my daughter made it through the fifth at bed time. She is loving them just as much as I remember and being able to just pick up the next the night after finishing the last has made for a ongoing experience. Awesome stories, a change to lightheartedly introduce the macabre, but you know not really. . . such fun vampire bunnies werewolf puppies .. and what. Truely engaged her imagination and her stuffed animals as well.

I read these books as a child and I saw the box set on Amazon. What a great price for all of the books ! I cannot wait to read them with my daughter :)

Funny, entertaining. Te oldest dog of the family is telling the stories and it is extremely funny to get into the minds of those 4 legged companions that so many of us have. The animal characters are just perfect. The cat is crazy, he believes the little bunny is a vampire... Gets them into a lot of mischief and adventures. Great reads for the middle graders and older kids as well.

These are fantastic for those with a slightly wicked sense of humour. After he read the first novel, we bought the set for our son when he was 7. He was through them before we knew it. The personalities of the animal characters and the interplay amongst them all make for many laugh out loud moments. I don't know how a serious child would take these but for those into wordplay and amused by a good caper, these books are gold.

The books themselves are excellent! The box the books are stored in arrived torn up and damaged but I had waited almost 2 months for them to arrive in the first place so I was just happy to receive the books!

We read through all of them! Did one chapter a night (~9pgs, larger font) and they lasted a while, and my child really enjoyed them.

I read the Bunnicula stories to my children and they loved them. Years later, with a feeling of nostalgia, I purchased the complete set for myself. I have re-read them, not just as a mother, and discovered much fun and previously overlooked depth to the stories. Yes, they seem to be a story of a Vampire bunny's adventures but reading them through older eyes it is also about love, being accepted and of family. Read the stories and enjoy.
