is this a stapler and a nail gun? If a nail gun, what kind of nails do i use?

Yes - it is a (brad) nail gun as well. I use Arrow # BN1810 5/8" Brad Nails. This stapler takes 5 sizes of staples (1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 1/2" & 9/16") and 2 sizes of brad nails (1/2" & 5/8").

Yes, this would work for chairs, upholstery - the staple size would allow for that. Also, the tension pressure is string enough to get through the fabric.

I'm female, 64 and have arthritic hands. is this as easy of a squeeze as stated? TIA.

IT would secure the wire to the wood,but the staples would not take lot of force to dislodge the staple.If you are going ahead with projeci,get the longest staples the Stanley will take.Hugh
