I wouldn't drive over it, but I have dropped it already
This is a nice heavy case. Good zipper, and well made. Protects my meter in my bag or when I carry the one alone. I work around electricity all the time, and have several meters. My big 287 was more of a "sit on the bench" meter, but I need the functionality of it sometimes, so having a good case to take it with me is important, and this case is better than the Fluke soft case...Like I said, I wouldn't drive over it, but the rigidity is good enough for banging it around on an installation job or on the shop floor. Plenty of room for leads and probes.

When I thought my fluke might get messed up.
I bought a fluke 189 multimeter about a year ago. I love fluke equipment, but they are awfully proud of their branded cases which don’t provide much protection. I bought this one and not only does it help to protect the meter, but the front pocket is great for holding the leads. I love it. I would carry more stuff in it, but I am good for now.

YKK zippers!
The quality of this case is surprisingly good. Anything with YKK zippers which add maybe a few cents to its manufacture shows the manufacturer really cares about quality. It is very similar to genuine Fluke cases for other Fluke products, but the much more expensive Fluke C280 case specifically made for the 289 doesn't have good reviews, and doesn't seem to offer much advantages over this one. And it doesn't have YKK zippers. The Fluke 289 multimeter fits snugly, with sufficient room in the pocket for probes.

RLSOCO Hard Case for Fluke 289/287
Good Protection, but Some Design Flaws.I purchased the RLSOCO Hard Case for my Fluke 289 to keep it safe during transport and storage. Overall, it does the job, but there are a few issues that prevent it from being a perfect solution.First, the build quality is solid. The outer shell is tough and provides decent protection against impacts, and the zipper feels smooth and reliable. Inside, the molded insert holds the multimeter securely, with enough room for test leads and small accessories. The included mesh pocket is also handy for storing additional cables or adapters. However, there are some design flaws that could be improved. The foam insert is a little too snug, making it difficult to remove the meter quickly, especially when working on a job where time matters. It would be better if it had a slightly looser fit or a pull tab for easier access. Additionally, the case is bulkier than expected, which makes it less convenient to carry in a tool bag. While the hard shell offers good protection, it adds extra weight and size that might not be necessary for everyone. For the price, it’s a decent option if you want strong protection, but the fit and bulkiness may be drawbacks for some users. If you're looking for a slimmer or more ergonomic design, you might want to consider other cases. Overall, it’s a functional but not perfect solution.
