I got two of these to shoot 400 yard targets. I filled them with cat litter, and these are a big step up from blue jean legs filled with sand. I am not sure about them reducing recoil. The rifle is nice and snug when it rests in one of these bags. I send one with guest to shooting houses, and no one has complained about carrying the extra weight.

This impressed me of uses ! Can use in stand , quick alignment if you bump your gun hunting . Rifles , pistol and shotguns no matter you can use this ! Heavy made holds gun great ! Caldwell out done there self here !

Best addition to range day ever. I have used several different bag rest but this by far surpasses them all, would definitely recommend this shooting bag rest.

This is a great support for accurate field/range shooting. It has a variety of positions that you can place it in to achieve the right height for your shooting position. I think it’s best suited for bench range shooting, but you could bring it out for hunting from a static position.The two biggest cons:1). I bought mine unfilled. The two filling ports on either side are super small. Using a funnel is a must. I filled mine with popcorn kernels, which made it super heavy and only suitable for range use. But that’s fine because that’s exactly what I bought it for.2). I already mentioned it, it’s super heavy completely filled. If you fill it with something light it will be much more convenient to carry, but less stable.Still a great rest and worth the money

My son loved this, he has used it every day since Christmas (even in between the rain storms) this item is versatile and fits perfectly anywhere he wants to use it. He can lay it on the hood of his truck or even on the patio porch during rain lol.

With (or without) a rear-squeeze bag this helps to form a rock-solid shooting base. It’s heavy and solid with a nice carry handle and really holds rifle barrels snugly within its grippy surface. I’ve used it mostly for precision .22LR and long-range 6.5CM; AR’s as well. My shot groups with this bag were MUCH tighter versus using a Harris bipod from a bench or when shooting prone (very little “barrel jump” relative to a bipod). The only issue (my fault!) was when I used it to help sight in my new Tavor X95 with an 18” barrel. I was concentrating so much on keeping my groups tight and didn’t realize that the barrel had slipped back enough so that the gasses exiting to the right wound up tearing a hole in the material and the filler was spilling out. I patched it with Gorilla Duct Tape and so far it’s held well. So use extra caution around bullpups or SBR’s, but otherwise if you need a rest I think it’s great.

Great shooting bag to shoot from. Holds the firearm in position as the shooting bag forms around the fore stock of the rifle. The bag has enough weight and textured bottom material to stay put while shooting. Highly recommend.
