Nanuk TSA Approved Case Lock

I love these locks for my Nanuk 325 carry-on case. The shank length is perfect, and the red rubber removable silicone loop everyone keeps complaining about didn't bother me at all. It's removable, and while that's annoying, I get it. My easy solution was a teeny dot of Gorilla Heavy Duty GorillaWeld 2-Part Epoxy on both ends of the loop where they attach to the lock. It's overkill, and I'm sure regular Gorilla Super Glue would have worked, but the former is what I had on hand. It's worked out great! I travel consistently with this hard case and the locks, and have had no loosening of the loops, and no losses. Everything is intact. The locks are also sturdy and serving their purposes as intended. I've tried a few different locks and most can easily break due to rough baggage handling. These Nanuk locks are the real deal. They have withstood multiple drops and crashes against concrete, but have never failed.

Lock shank is offset to fit into Nanuk case without tilting the body. Silicone band has ball to keep it from slipping out of lock body. Top of the lock shank has indentations for the silicone to encapsulate so I doubt it would ever fall off. I prefer this to having the silicone body around the lock. Lock is solid and weighty and the shank seems like it would take some effort to cut through. This is the aesthetic choice for the case obviously other style locks with fit.Rated 4 stars because I had issues while resetting the combination. I put in the new code according to directions and made sure my numbers were in place however my last dial did not engage the proper number. For some reason it seems to have more play when selecting numbers as the other dials provide definite clicks for each number.. may be a defect? Once I found the code and corrected it the lock works as designed.
