I have been using this Schwarzkopf (Ruby Noir) dye for years and absolutely LOVE it. I get compliments on my hair all the time, and no one believes me when I tell them it's box dye. While reds are known for extremely bad fading, I haven't had that problem at all with this particular brand or shade. As with anything, the color is going to vary greatly depending on your lighting. Your individual results are also going to depend on your starting canvas, method of application, and how long you actually leave it on your hair. Obviously, the longer the darker and more vibrant. When rinsing, your water will never run clear with this particular shade (it's a red thing). Not even after showering for the first 3 weeks. If you get it on your skin, the cheap blue astringent they sell in EVERY cosmetic/skincare section at any retailer known to man will take it right off. It did not stain my brand new shower at all. However, if you accidentally get it on your countertops, or don't wipe off your sink/tub/shower in a timely manner, any bathroom cleaner that contains bleach will handle that. I will ALWAYS highly recommend this brand to anyone looking to dye their own hair!

The color is beautiful! I get a lot of compliments on the color all the time! Ruby Noir is my fav go to for color! The only down fall is the rinsing part it seems like it takes forever to rinse out and you truly really never get it out, bc every time you wash your hair it’s going to bleed! I don’t know why it does that but oh well!

LOVE , LOVE , LOVE THIS COLOR. I JUST WISH THEY WOULD QUIT DECREASING THE AMOUNT OF DEVELOPER EVERYTIME I BUY IT. GET YOUR OWN 32 OZ BOTTLE OF DEVELOPER SO YOU DONT HAVE TO KEEP BUYING 2 BOXES FOR LONGER HAIR. RIDICULOUSLY TIRED OF ALL THE CONTINUOUS SIZE REDUCTION OF EVERYTHING WE BUY.

I was paying to get my hair done professionally for awhile, but decided to go back to doing my own hair. This product line is fabulous. I had about a 1/2" of regrowth with about 30-40% gray hair. I used this on clean hair as I have found that reds grab better to cleaner hair.I applied at the roots first and allowed it to process for 15 mins then applied to the remainder of the hair. I used a large comb to comb the product through from root to ends making sure my entire head of hair was saturated (avoid scraping your scalp). I allowed it to process another 30 minutes before rinsing.At this point I hopped into the shower bringing the included conditioner with me. I turned my water to Luke warm and rinsed. Once I felt it had been rinsed enough (red will never run clear not even at the salon) I used my redkin red hair shampoo and washed my hair. I rinsed all the shampoo out with cool water, squeezed out excess water and applied the conditioner. After 10 mins, I rinsed the conditioner out again using cool water. Squeeze out excess water and wrap your hair up.After all this I just blew it dry on low until it was about 75% dry. The darker areas are hair that is still wet.**For reference when considering this product**My Natural grow out level is a 5/6Already had a darker red base on ends level 5/6Hair is just above shoulders, fine, but I do have a lot of hair. Took 1 box to fully cover. I did NOT use the protection product as I had no dry/damaged ends.Don't freak out if it looks orange/copper at first, trust the process.GOOD LUCK:)

This is a great hair dye that does a great job hiding the gray. I com ine this with a brown, so you see brown in most light but when I'm out on the sun, you can see the purple and I always get a lot of compliments on it. It's not so crazy that you can see it in all lights, but just in the sunlight. I love it and think the quality is great and it's easy to do yourself. I highly recommend it.

It didn’t work for me. My hair was dark at the roots and blondish from mid-length to the ends. My hair was already light enough to achieve the shade described on the box, but it turned jet black—completely black. I’m giving it 3 stars because it did cover my grays, but I also had an issue where the color kept washing out in the shower. It wouldn’t stop after 1 hour in the shower, so I had to get out while it was still dripping red. It was an odd experience, it has never happened with Nutriesse which my go to brand.
