Sturdy, large, and heavy = Yes. Solid and sure = Yes. If used outdoors will produce much iron oxide (rust) = Yes. I did not want the weathered process, so since I purchased 6 of these, I simply lined them up on a rack in my basement and applied multiple coats of PlastiDip to every side. I coated them so well, that once I installed onto my exterior shed, one of my visiting buddies thought the handle was some kind of hardened plastic. With this coating, the casting character (seam and pits) was reduced, and I like it with such reduction. I did not want to mess around with spraying the included screws, so I purchased brass screws... I love the way my golden colored screws complement these handles! I looked into hand forged/hammered handles and those were cost prohibitive, plus they too would need a coating, so this option was definitely the best option out there for me.

Ordered on a Sunday night, had them Tuesday afternoon and we don't even live in the hub city so I was shocked at how fast they arrived. Handles are perfect for our rustic water themed master jack and jill closets, we converted bi-fold closet doors into french doors and the hardware store only had thee little tiny flimsy handles that would have looked horrible with the large scale doors. These handles are heavy and large and although rustic, are not rusty. They give the doors a sophisticated look without the sophisticated price. Love them!!!

Nice large heavy handles, great value. Just know they have a more brown rust look if you are looking for a black finish.

These handles are perfect! Very well made, sturdy and wide for men's hands too! They make any wood working project look beautiful, especially the very popular barn doors! I highly recommend these handles!

I love these. They are so heavy, they look SO good. I may buy another one and do a little towel bar by my sink they are just great!

Honestly, at the price they are offered, these handles are great for anyone looking to get an imitated age-worn barn handle. I would note, however, that not much scraping of the surface of this handle is required before you can see the true, shiny new metal underneath. There are also some sharp marks/imperfections that are clearly the result of modern machinery. Notwithstanding all of this, I would still recommend them at their price under $20.

These barn door handles have a nice rustic look and are such a great price.
