Great product, instructions for operating could be better.

Very difficult to program, but that is not my main beef. The first one of these a landscaper installed. While replacing the batteries 2 years ago, the lead that connected to one of the batteries broke off. Bought this one from Amazon. Just spent 2 hours trying to program it after replacing batteries (successfully this time) and struggled trying to program it before I realized that the buttons for programming it stick so badly that it is impossible to get it to work. The electronics and solenoids might still work. Hard to tell. In other words, do not but this

I love the design and convenience of having it in a remote location without the need to hardwire. That said, to date I have been unable to program the unit. I've used the manual and tried three different times, all unsuccessfully. I believe it is probably my error, however, it is not as if I am new to this. I've installed several systems and have successfully programed more than ten different timers for myself, family and friends. It is my belief if I can get the timer figured out it will be exactly what I am looking for. However, since I've spent a lengthy amount of time on three different occasions setting up the program only to find out it is not working, I cannot give it a better rating until if/when it begins to work.
