National Geographic London Book of Lists: The City's Best, Worst, Oldest, Greatest, and Quirkiest Hardcover – Illustrated, November 4, 2014

This book is great! It's much more than a guidebook that you'll want to carry around with you while in London (though it is that too)! It's a unique mix of practical touring information and fascinating trivia, and often combines the two categories cleverly (categories such as "London rock locations" and "movie locations", for example, educate and also offer opportunities for finding and visiting the locations in question, including in the first instance where Keith Richards and Syd Barrett lived (separately), where David Bowie, the Clash and Oasis shot album covers, where Bob Dylan flipped the cards for the famous filmed clip for his Subterranean Homesick Blues" and much more). I can personally verify the excellent recommendations in the "Best Curry Houses" category, and I'm looking forward to visiting more of the "Oldest Restaurants" on my next trip. The category of "Best Small Live Music Venues" will be very useful to me (I've only been to one so far). Other fascinating categories (among many many others) including "Who's Buried Where", "Smallest, Shortest and Narrowest", plus categories for now humorous laws which used to warrant execution as well as odd laws which are surprisingly still theoretically enforceable.All in all, this book is quite a unique gem, and probably the only "guidebook" of which I will eventually read every word.

What an excellent book of lists of London! It was fun to read and has so much information. This little book gave me lots of ideas of places to go, things to see, and presented me with all kinds of information. It will be the first item I place in my carry-on on my next trip yo my favorite city -London. Thanx!!

A good book to give to friends, if they have been to London, or at least are Anglophiles. A book-full of interesting trivia, and widely researched.

A fun must have book for anyone traveling to London.It has great information and ideas for the business traveler, tourist, or a student spending a semester in London.You can grab the book, open to any page and have interesting facts and conversation pieces at your fingertips. An easy and fun format and definitely will be with me on my next trip to London.

I'm heading to London tomorrow and have this book in my carry-on bag. The book is a smorgasbord for the mind that loves random facts. Am tempted to practice some Cockney Rhyming Slang (page 13) on the plane so I'll be all set when I land. Adam and Eve it! (Believe it!).
